If this was all a big conspiracy it would be easy to prove and he wouldn't have settled out of court. It's not a "happy ending" if the therapist isn't a willing participant - it's sexual assault.

I agree. I think there's blame on both sides here. Clearly Watson was out of line in the way he was contacting so many therapists and putting them in the position of having to deal with the sexual requests. From what I've read so far, my guess is that he was polite about it but it was still unwanted. Yet, at least some of the women went back for more after the first encounter.

The sheer numbers is what really makes it bad for Watson. I don't think he ever physically abused anyone but he was clearly inappropriate more than enough times. At the first sight of his inappropriate behavior, any of these women could have just walked out. But after the volume of accusations, it made it easy for all the women he visited to come after him for money, even if they didn't have a big problem with it at the time of the massages.

I just don't get why a guy like him would take this approach with women. He's a young, filthy rich athlete. He can have pretty much any women he wants, consensually. Why go after happy endings like that? Just odd.

I have no idea of the timeline so he may just be a freak but I wouldn’t be surprised if his encounters increased due to lockdowns.

No. But at the same time, if my daughter were a licensed massage therapist, I would expect her to work in a legit place and not look for clients via instagram. And if she did look for clients via instagram, I would expect her to walk out on any client immediately if they did anything remotely inappropriate. And if she's working independently, I would also expect her to inform all clients, in-advance/in-writing, that her service is 100% legit, non-sexual and that inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.

I'm guessing that if any of those instagram MT's put it in writing to DW, in-advance, that the sessions are massage-only, absolutely nothing sexual, that he wouldn't have hired them.

I have 2 daughters and I don’t fall for the “if it was your daughter” scenario.

Anyone with women in their lives know they will be approached/pressured to do something sexual whether its on their job or at school/party/etc.. Its just the way of the world. Men try to have sex with women. Always have and always will.

If we want to be honest, it not just DeShaun.. plenty of no name dudes will try inappropriate things and my job is to teach them to make the right decisions when in those situations.
