Its possible Watson made unwanted advances on “some” of the women and not “ALL” of the women. No one should use absolutes or simplify their thinking to blame the women.
Well...24 (or 26 or whatever) said that he made unwanted advances.

And I think several others said that they had consensual "sexual relations".

Given the big numbers and the fact that they were all coming in through the same channel, I don't think it's unreasonable to think that he at least tried with most / all of them (but I agree that saying it as an absolute is overstating what we know).

They were selected through Instagram with him knowing what they looked like. So it's not like they got there and he decided they were unattractive.

Bawb, I think you must have points in your posts, but I often don't understand what they are (and I'm not trying to be malicious).

I do see lots of random political talking points scattered among things I can't piece together though. And they seem to me to be (i) blatantly one sided (even though as a non-citizen who can't vote I don't see much difference between the two parties here except in the messaging...Canada was the same IMO, same products different labels) and (ii) intentionally inflammatory.

Although I concede that part of that could be that I often don't understand what you're talking about. And while others have tried to chalk that up to you using academic language, I'm an academic and I don't think that's the issue.

But the inflammatory part seems to fit with what others have said about you re: other boards...and about some of the posts you have had on this board as well.

If you're intention is to discuss things in good faith on the board*, my suggestions would be to try to take a bit more time to articulate your thoughts clearly...and to attempt to use less incendiary language...and stay away from super-charged political topics (except in the off-topic part of the board...where no one goes).

Anyway...my wife's former company used to say something like "Feedback is a gift, it's up to you to choose what to do with it". The unspoken part was "ignoring it is one of the options". So take this post however you like. Again, I'm not intending to be malicious. Here's a smiley as proof:

      * I think most of us try to do this...even though we all fall short from time to time (including me).

All your points are well taken, Bro Blitz. Closing in on my 84th birthday, a left wing, ex-NFL aspiring transsexual woman on another site recommended George Orwell's rule for writing. After many decades of reading Orwell, how did I miss that one?

All I can do in the future is try to follow your and Orwell's advice the best I can. I could blame it on all kinds of past events but that seems futile and steady state stupid.

George Orwell must be rolling over in his grave watching you consistently breaking all of his writing rules.

Assuming that George follows my daily butchery of his rules from the grave, you're right.

              I’ve been thinking about that.

how long has this been going on. Was this happening in college ?
Maybe a reason why he “dropped”. Teams can dig deep to find out all sorts of things.

with Mitch on board here, we certainly see the good character and tools the guy has and Chicago may have went with the safer pick.

so one of the accusers adult son admitted his mother spoke highly of DeShaun but changed her tone once the lawsuit hit the news.

She tried to buy his silence as well.

Watson is still an idiot and guilty of something but I wonder how many of these women jumped on this lawsuit doing the same thing?

Of COURSE the women are jumping onto this rich as Gawd idiot! Luckily, the NFL Channel ignores the even richer than Gawd Oiler owners who mysteriously ignored DeSean's hobby.

Right. Some of the women were greedy ( inset your own adjective ) but many were not. Whether that's 24, 18, or 12 of them is besides the point.

In addition to the punishment terms and conditions I purpose the NFL forces him to wear a special numbers when he comes back, XX ,to something to shames his deeds. If he doesn't / wear like it, screw him as part of the penalty to return, you forfeit your pay. Such a fine however will require some rule changes, but so be it. Let Watson wear his shame XX for all to see. NFL justice. I'm interested to hear who else out there would agree to this added to the punishment. They can call it " the Watson " rule reserved for sexual predators. I know women would be for it, which is about 40% of the NFL viewers. Your stance?
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

                        This is dumb.. but funny.

Why stop at Watson. Anyone with a DUI or illegals substance should also wear a patch or sticker.

and owners and coaches as well.

Anyone caught cheating should have an asterisk on their helmet.

It reserved for people who did wrong to others. A DUI usually doesn't have victims. I don't want to minimize the crime though, it's serious. Watson has 26. Let him wear his shame upon his return.

Actually a lot of accidents involve DUI’s. So driving while intoxicated is serious IMO.
