I have no problem with Khan. IMO he’s been the GM in waiting for years.
It was all a ruse from start to finish; of course they selected the in-house, minority guy. Shocker. Who couldn't see that one coming?

I know YOU think Tomlin is dumb but.... would YOU broadcast a desire to draft Pickett?

          Yes or no?

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

          TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

All Art had to do is let Shades be himself, and it accomplished the goal of setting off everyone on the wrong trail. Then he allowed Shades to draft the poor man's Willis in the 7th. Easy peazy, done like dinner.

Wouldn't surprise me in the least if the Steelers or any NFL team would do this.

lmao.. you knew it was true because you wanted it to be.

and since it didn’t happen like some expected it surely must be because he was overruled.

even though we drafted A FREAKIN PITT QB who spent 5 years in our practice facilities..

lmao. The amount of ignorance is astounding.

but I will say this, if Pickett flopped and Willis ended up being a beast I guarantee you guys will not spin this and blame Tomlin.

Are you sure. For all I you know Kahn was among the Steelers ( minority owners who wanted Tomlin out ). Colbert was loyal to everyone as far as I could tell but he's gone. Yes, Tomlin wanted his guys in place just like Haley and Butler were in place for him until their perforce went down hill and it hit the fan. Then he fired them or didn't offer a new contact. This change for Tomlin is the position less internal defense.

Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

Oh so Chris Oladokun was a consolation prize for TOMLIN after being denied Willis. Tomlin obviously had to get ONE of HIS guys. Colbert had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with that pick?

Let's discuss debates on who wanted what that I've been a part of in the last week alone.

                        Colbert- Genius for choosing TJ
Tomlin- Would have picked Taco before TJ given the chance
Tomlin- Moron for choosing Jarvis J
                        Tomlin- Wanted Willis and Oladokun
Rooney- Must have forced Pickett on Tomlin

                        Notice the patterns?

I will just let everyone ponder the implications of this narrative and come to their own conclusions.

Kudos to him for a completely under the radar power move. Seriously, Tomlin is a boss. Pushing the GM replacement until after the draft means this is Tomlin's draft in my mind. And these player...Pickett, Pickens, Leal, Austin, Heyward, Robinson, Oladokun...they were Tomlin guys more than Colbert guys.

I think everyone on here should love this. It's on Tomlin from here on out imho. He's in control of his destiny. He got his rookie QB. He got his FAs that he wanted likely given that KC was a lame duck. And he's got a bean counter as his GM who isn't much of a football guy from what I can tell. And he's no longer saddled with Ben.

He also seems to be getting the coaches he wants. Austin and Canada seem like Tomlin guys that he wanted in place. Flores seems like a Tomlin guy that could even be a future successor depending on Tomlin's next step.
what about the OL coach whose OL was terrible this year and was sooo overwhelmed, he took a position in the college ranks.
isn’t that hire credited to tomlin as well.

How about the new assistant OL we had to scrape the bottom of the barrel for

I think the OLine is a mess and hopefully we can improve from here with a better O.

With so much turnover, I expected it to take time to develop, but we literally were a wreck and the play calling didn’t help anything.

We got a couple pieces and some QBs that can buy time and move in the pocket. The parts are better and we have to improved from here.

The biggest question is the OC at this point. So there still could be one more scape goat. But even Canada may get some rope with the new QBs.

Fingers crossed Pickett can overcome everything and I have a feeling he can having watched him develop at Pitt.

You can’t get everything right, but there’s so good pieces and good coaches coming together.

and I think the picks were solid. Hopefully.
