If the Steelers draft Pickett, it feels like they've resigned themselves to having no better than the 3rd best QB in the division for 5 years. I just don't see the upside.

I think Pickett could be the best QB to come out of this class

That said, I don't know that he's clearly any better than the Mitchster

Which is why we shouldn’t draft ANY of these QB’s.

I agree and don't think the team will. Unless they believe Pickett (or anyone else) is a franchise QB, it would make zero sense. The Steelers pounced on Trubisky the instant he became a free agent. That tells me they did enough scouting to believe there was a good chance he could be the guy that was drafted #2 overall (regardless if you feel he was overdrafted). You don't make that quick of a move on a bridge quarterback or one that you have significant concerns with.

With the tragic loss of Haskins, it may be likely the team selects a developmental prospect in the later rounds. I could possibly see a 2nd rounder, if Howell were to drop that far. Nothing else would make sense to me.

Yet another 'expert' chimes in on this year's QB class. Kinda funny he starts off by saying he sucks at picking QBs that will succeed.

says Willis by far is best, then Ridder, then; "Pickett is kinda a hybrid Mac Jones/Baker Mayfield".

Wishful thinking. They paid him what they thought of him. He's a bridge QB with a remote chance he finds something.

He's admittedly now a "physical tools above all" analyst. Pretty fair breakdown of Willis, actually - he has a lot of bad habits. One thing he and many are overlooking, IMO, is that a lot of those hero ball throws are easy picks in the NFL, and he doesn't have Lamar Jackson speed - he's going to get chased down by NFL LBs and edge rushers.

He kind of put me off of Corral and Howell, though, re-inforced Ridder and especially Strong. Didn't realized the knee thing was as nuanced -- he hurt it in high school, finally had surgery last year and purposely came back early to play. Let him heal for a year and you have the best thrower in the draft.

I'll still remind everyone that Tom Brady had one of the lowest projected ceilings ever but ended up with one that likely will never be touched, and you won't be able to find any throws that remind you of Josh Allen, Patty Mahomes, or even Dan Marino on his tape. So much of playing QB is from the neck up.

I'm a bit torn on the athlete vs the neck up QB. All the athleticism in the world doesn't help if you can't read a defense or are slow to process. On the other hand a statue in the pocket with modern rushers is a death sentence.
I worry about these mobile QBs that can run because they can't read a defense. Not a trait for long term success in the NFL.

Brady has been a statue for years, but knows how to read pre-snap and check down if there's pressure.

Strong is the NFL ready as any in the group, good arm and off the chart football smarts. It’s all about the knee.

                        Do you feel lucky?

Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

Hate to use Brady as any example because he's such an outlier on so many levels. Maybe a better example would be Peyton Manning. But I get the point.

id prefer Strong in the second over any QB in Round 1

It's all about the medicals on his knee. If teams think he just needs a year off, he'll go on day 2 or early day 3, if not he'll go undrafted.
