    Ridder Rising; Pickett Sliding

Willis steady........ One would think that as the draft gets closer more information would lead to more realistic mocks when factoring in trades, late signings, etc.

    Trending their pick positions;

I’m seeing Jack Coan flying up the Steelers board and wouldn’t be surprised if we take him in the 7th.

I once heard him compared to Matt Ryan. He could be the Tom Brady of this draft. Not a big arm, not to mobile within the pocket, but smart, allegedly a hard worker, and anticipates well and completes a high percentage of passes.

I figure there’s gotta be something to us collecting ND WRs. And that’s to make Coan comfortable with some alums to throw to.

Howell at 2.52 is palatable, provided they draft the true BPA at 1.20 and don't reach for need.

agreed... and I'd even be ok with a small trade up in the 2nd to get him... it costs a lot less draft capital to move up in the 2nd...

Just listened to the Rich Eisen interview Willis' coach at Liberty, Hugh Freeze. Freeze cited it as a positive, but I'm not sure I like the happy-go-lucky/big kid having fun attitude in my QB. I want an assassin. This is why I like Ridder and Corral - I think they have that killer instinct and fire.

Stark contrast between the last pro day throw for Willis and for Ridder - Willis ran around like he won the lottery, Ridder looked like he just closed a business deal.

Yep. Emotional stability is a key for a consistently winning QB. Never too up, never too down. We don't need a Jay Cutler.

I always felt like Cutler never showed any emotion. When he was winning or losing he had the same face.. like he was bored and didn’t want to be there.

I think being positive is a a great thing for a QB. Russell Wilson is a prime example. Down 20 and Wilson is clapping and encouraging teammates because that dude is always ready to win a game in the 4th qtr.

Agree on Cutler poor example. Dude has the emotion of a stinkin Zucchini.

But I think Wilson is also a very poor example of the opposite.

Wilson's response you describe is not an overly emotional one. His controlled consistent positive mentality is what you describe. He is promoting confidence regardless the last play. It is a deliberate use of positive emotion.

Wilson uses positive emotion to upbuild his "team" rather than being controlled by the emotion of his "individual" play.

                          You want a comp?

Willis "look at what I just did" emotion is what you expect from Cam Newton. 100 percent.

That is NOT the kind of emotion I want in a QB. If we draft him I HOPE that was an anomaly (could well be it was an individual showing).

If I were to predict Wilson's response to that throw I think it is more "Ridder" than Willis.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

                              I kinda like Willis’ attitude.

Id rather see guys having fun and just being themselves. What kind of robot to you have to be to experience no joy after some amazing throws at your pro day? This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I’d suggest someone not reacting like Willis is depressing their emotions and not allowing themselves to have fun.

I saw the clip of Willis giving stuff away to a homeless person at the combine and started paying attention and he seems like a genuinely good kid. He looks a little like Juju and acts a little like Najee. I don’t think you can go wrong drafting the kid.
