Wilson's response you describe is not an overly emotional one. His controlled consistent positive mentality is what you describe. He is promoting confidence regardless the last play. It is a deliberate use of positive emotion.

Wilson uses positive emotion to upbuild his "team" rather than being controlled by the emotion of his "individual" play.

    You want a comp?

Willis "look at what I just did" emotion is what you expect from Cam Newton. 100 percent.

That is NOT the kind of emotion I want in a QB. If we draft him I HOPE that was an anomaly (could well be it was an individual showing).

If I were to predict Wilson's response to that throw I think it is more "Ridder" than Willis.
    Yeah.. Russell Wilson never celebrates.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I’d suggest someone not reacting like Willis is depressing their emotions and not allowing themselves to have fun.

I saw the clip of Willis giving stuff away to a homeless person at the combine and started paying attention and he seems like a genuinely good kid. He looks a little like Juju and acts a little like Najee. I don’t think you can go wrong drafting the kid.
its draft time so everyone is always looking for any reason to knock a guy.

How dare Willis have a positive attitude and grin.

and for the record, Cam was knocked and bashed for his “smile” and the way he wore a towel on the sidelines.

Same old same tho.. its the reason Brady can smash a tablet or rip teammates and its shows he cares but the next QB who does it lacks composure.

I'm with you. It's crazy how many people hate Cam. Is he a little cocky? Yeah, but by all accounts he's a good dude, hard worker, etc.

But in fairness, I think you have to win to get the benefit of the doubt from the masses.

I still wouldn't be against Pittsburgh trying to sign Cam. I think he's past being a QB, but I think you could still use him in some spots to make some plays. He's still an incredible athlete and he probably does have the best hands in the NFL. I think you could use him in the Slash role. He's built like a TE, runs like a RB/WR and he's got hands. I'm sure he could learn to run routes. I think he'd make the team better just being on the field as an extra skill position player but not as your primary QB.

nah.. Cam is done. Not sure what happened but dude lost his mojo after that Watt hit. People forget he was having an MVP season before that game.

He used to have a cannon and now that ball just goes all over the place when it leaves his hands.

Best bet is GL slash role.

My comment wasn't about celebrating. Wilson is a stone cold killer.

Willis' coach said sometimes in practice Willis would laugh and congratulate the D when they stopped him on a play. I can't imagine Brady doing that.

I want my QB to be a great white shark, not a panda bear.

Have you seen the tuck doc rule with Brady and Woodson?

Brady is a lot more laid back than most would believe. He was hilarious and had jokes for Woodson.

I think there is this mythical thing with Brady being all business but dude had AB living in his house. He is a lot more approachable than people believe.

Ridder is the guy who intrigues me now but no one really knows. Colbert has smoke screened pretty well so far. Half of all mocks I’ve seen have us taking a QB. Everyone is guessing.

I think that's because Brady will do whatever it takes to win, no matter what it is.

This is why I like Ridder and Corral - I think they have that killer instinct and fire.

Stark contrast between the last pro day throw for Willis and for Ridder - Willis ran around like he won the lottery, Ridder looked like he just closed a business deal.
Corral MIGHT be wonderful but Ole Miss tried to put weight on him and couldn't. So if he keeps getting hurt his attitude is moot. Is Ridder "The answer to the question!" given the Steelers currently incomplete rebuild?

If so, as Gertrude Stein supposedly asked a mourner on her death bed in 1946:
                      "What is the question"

Hope Dulac is right about this (he's not very often):

Kramer: Gerry, during last week's chat you seemed pretty certain the Steelers will, at the very least, use a mid to late round pick on a QB. My question is what is the point of doing that? The chances you are going to find the next Tom Brady are as likely as hitting the powerball. The reality is that you will be wasting valuable draft capital on a guy you hope never sees the field. Shouldn't they look for a vet minimum FA and sign an undrafted rookie instead? This will give them 4 camp arms while the two at the bottom fight it out to make the roster as the number 3 QB.
Gerry Dulac: They're not trying to find the next Tom Brady. They're trying to find a third- or fourth-string QB. They don't have either one of those right now so you can pretty much take it to the bank.
Gerry Dulac: Ok kids, lets get started w our chat....Go!! SMF: Hi Gerry: Thanks for the Chats: Pickett has been dropping from the upper half of first...

Watch for them to draft Cole Kelley, late round or UDFA. Depth and camp arm.
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

I think drafting mid-round QBs is not a great use of draft capital.

There are enough failed guys around the league that it shouldn't be too hard to get a cheap guy to come in and be a 3rd or 4th QB.

This is why I disliked the Dobbs and Mason picks when we made them. I think it's better to use those midround picks to make the team better.

We saw that there wasn't really all that much difference between playing Duck and Mason.
