Clark has definitely jumped the sharp.

I think it’s much to early to pass judgement on either MR or Haskins. Heck, I’d like to see Dobbs get a shot.
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

but how many of those great QB’s at Clemson also played football in SC?

I think its possible simply because HS athletes can put up amazing stats based on their schedule and school size.

      Mason had 11,000 yards passing in HS. 132 TD’s and 29 INT’s.

Woodrow Dantzler is the other name that comes up but he was a duel threats.

      11,000 all purpose yards.
      7100 passing yards 60 TD’s
      3100 rushing 35 TD’s

You're right. I was just surprised and couldn't really come up with anyone myself.

As an aside, I've been as critical of MR as anyone to the point where he made me appreciate and like Duck. I remember everyone back then wanted to give him a chance to succeed, but everyone's kinda given up now. I'm back in the camp of I want to give him a chance now. I still think his arm is mediocre at best and his decision making/leadership is suspect, but he kinda won me over when Myles Garrett hit him over his head with his own helmet. That was the only glimpse of spunk we've seen from MR and I gotta give him credit for being a tough SOB. I'm sure it's a 1% chance at best, but maybe he can do something coming out of Ben's shadow. And maybe he needs a little real competition to make sure he pushes himself as much as possible.

If it's true that the team viewed MR as a 1st round QB that's more of a failure imo. Lapses in having a franchise type QB happen though it's kind of impossible to avoid, some teams go years or even decades without one.

I didn’t see anything impressive from Love and Lance when they played this year. Small sample size but they were both first rounders I believe.

I’m not really hung up on grades. He was drafted in the 3rd.. he is a 3rd round talent.

Now, if we drafted him in the first I would say it was a failure.

It's almost as though the Steelers over drafted Edmunds and under drafted MR, if you believe their hype.

If your answer is all you want is a QB drafted near the top od Round 1 you already have him on the roster. His initials are D.H.

                Drafting Round 1 guarantees nothing.

                  Sure you can.

With Mason as the QB, the Steelers are not a contender next season. They will most likely be a losing team, maybe somewhere in the 5-12 range. 2022 is likely a lost season.

However, a failure of an organization? For having a losing season to regroup and transition? If we set the bar of "failure" as a ten or more loss season, only one franchise has not had a failure year since 2000. The Patriots were 5-11 in 2000. Next in that group is the Steelers (6-10 in 2003). Almost every team has three or more years of 10+ losses in that time. So taking a quick snapshot in history of a team in its worst position since 2003 is considered failure by RC, without even taking the time to let it play out? Let us at least let the next couple of years play out before we can call the organization a failure.
