And then turns around and takes another job in such a short time frame?

Hope he doesn't borrow socks from Colin Kaepernick for his press conference.
    Just stop.

        Love the move.
Beyond being OVER qualified for the position, I have a feeling his value goes far beyond his ability as a "coach".

        His outspokeness has been controversial.

I truly believe he STILL could easily get a DC gig.

I 100 percent think he was SOLD on the idea that THE STEELERS are different than other franchises that he takes issue with. Next point.

Everyone understands while we'll intentioned the Rooney rule is not working. People are correct in the end owners are going to do what they do.

THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO CAN CREATE A CHANGE ARE PLAYERS.

People won't want to hear this but the team is communicating loud and clear that the Steelers are an EXCEPTION.

        Rooney
        Tomlin
And now a guy who hurt his personal career to make a point in Flores.

FREE AGENTS ARE PUT ON NOTICE...STEELERS ARENT LIKE THE REST.

For player who support change in the system CHOOSING the Steelers is their voice.

If the Steelers succeed, it makes the larger case to the owners for change too.

I guarantee you, in pursuit of free agents, players are gonna see this and the Steelers are gonna be more attractive. And you know Flores who is so passionate about it he took a hit is gonna sell it. Players post career options are at stake.

True players are mostly gonna be about money, but if dollars are close, it gives us an edge.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

        TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

I wonder if when Mike introduces Brian to Teryl Austin, he'll use air quotes around "defensive coordinator" while elbowing Flores in the ribs.

To my point.... I HOPE SO.
The more he voices his case, the better.

              Great move!
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

he is the better qualified for the job.
why not just wait on the Austin hire and see what happened with Flores.

Flores is most likely only going to be here for one year.

I'm sure he still has head coaching aspirations.

true. Have to believe with all the pressure, teams will be looking to hire him.
and if he’s not listed as a DC, would we get draft pick compensation if a team hires Him for a DC position ?

I agree. I wonder if they thought he'd get hired easy.
They interviewed other guys so they must not have thought they had a shot.
I do think we just have a history of insider loyalty to a fault.

Now that the dude is settling for this it does look like he is too "controversial" for the rest.
                      ALL THE BETTER FOR US.

If there’s 1 nfl family the Rooney’s are close to its the Mara’s (NYG)
I wouldn’t be surprised to see Flores drop his suit against them

That's funny. I bet he is the leagues best compensated linebacker coach.

Greet hire! I’m hoping this frees Tomlin up to concentrating on fixing the offense.
