[QUOTE=Northern_Blitz;872545]I thought this thread was going to be about hand size.
    /QUOTE]

I'm just glad we are only measuring hands. A few of these guys are fixated on another male body part, usually Tomlin's,
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

The question about the Bengals was the OL that got him killed as a rookie. Their defense was a lot better than I thought it would be and their rookie kicker looks like a young Justin Tucker.
Cinci defense was actually very good. Hilton played great all year but oddly didn't post a sack. I thought he was a very good sack master in the 'burgh.

          Don’t forget Burrow was injured.

Haskins threw for almost 5,000 yards, 50 TD passes and only 8 interceptions in 2018. It worked out great for OSU. I’m not sitting him with that kind of production.

You could tell he meant they had their eye on making it to the Super Bowl and/or winning it all. At the time it felt like a pat on his head was in order, like "Aww, that's cute, kid." Well, the jokes on all of us who felt that way. That son of a gun pulled it off and made it to the show, in only his 2nd year, and even less than that, considering he blew his knee out early in his rookie year.

I say good for him. He cracks me up, and boy the kid has "it," without question. And boy, he whooped our @ss this year, case closed.
And the guy who beat him out for the college starter position is on our roster riding the bench. Odd world we live in.

I seen the spring games, and the limited time Burrows had at OSU. Haskins was clearly the better talent at that point. That's why its so difficult to evaluate QB talent. Haskins is a physical specimen. But, Burrows has something Haskins doesn't appear to have at least yet. What is that IT? How does an average athlete like Brady become the GOAT?

Decision-making, vision, pinpoint accuracy. If you don't have those, you'd better be really good at extending plays and throwing off platform, or be surrounded with insane talent.

I think going to an org that drafts you and believes in you plays a part in this.

All reports suggest there was a huge divide between scouts, coaches and Snyder regarding Haskins.

I also think age plays a part in this. Burrow is older than Sam Darnold. Its one of the reason’s I think Pickett’s age isn’t a negative.

You get a guy that is all business in Burrow. Not sure of Haskin’s background but guys like Burrow who faced adversity and moved to a different team to get their shot tend to have more maturity than a Haskin’s who probably never had to really go above and beyond to prove themselves.

Haskins first setback was after he was receiving NFL checks as far as I know.

If he had to sit for 3 years before getting a shot at OSU and put in the work to prove himself he would probably be further along in the NFL.

But who knows. There are guys sitting behind AR and Jimmy G and we have no idea if they are legit or not. We will see how Haskins does in camp to find out if he has IT or if he is going to be a clipholder the rest of his career.

The number one requirement for ultimate success as a QB is between the ears. Lots of guys have the talent. Guys with the ability to do it once or twice are a dime a dozen. It's the guy who can perform 60 times a game times 17 games a season who stand out. The ones who become all time greats can still do it when the playoffs arrive, when the pressure ramps up to insane levels, when those doubts start to creep in, when millions are watching.

Kyle Murry is a good example. Dude is legit but he was clearly rattled in the playoffs and his body language was terrible. He will improve but it was obvious he was overwhelmed.

and for the record most QB’s play bad in their first trip to the playoffs. The ones who survive are usually fortunate to have a D that gets turnovers and protects their
                        mistakes.

Hilton basically saved the Bengals season with that INT in the red zone that flipped field position against TN.

If he doesn’t make that play.. and Tannehill doesn’t have like 4 INT’s we easily could’ve been asking if the moment was too big for Burrow. We would’ve talked about all his passing yards and no TD’s and 1 INT.

Its really a game of inches.

How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?

I'd also add ability to throw with anticipation. That's something that needs honed in the pro level game.
