I agree. Juju signs here because Ben. With MR probably at helmet, he wants go anywhere.I hope Juju signs with the Steelers but don't see it happening partly because of the offense/QB situation. He took a weird 1 year deal to come back because of Ben but that's obviously not the case now.
The Watt situation is just pure incompetency from the FO to coaches. Just no excuse for that.
I was really disappointed in the Schobert situation, thought he'd be better, he's a good coverage LB which I thought the team could use but overall just meh, part of that might've been the defense itself though.
Hopefully Witherspoon is back.
All of us though Schobert was a better player. Maybe he is and the problem is the scheme. No ILB since Shazier seems work.
Witherspoon is a must. Specially with Haden lost.Steeler Nation in SpainComment

Exactly. I could care less about Watt carrying the ball. But he could have made Harris' life a bit less painful as the lead blocker.
The Steelers run 21 personnel at one of the lowest rates in the league. Also, despite this personnel the league average to actually run out of it is only 60%. It's all about creating indecision for the defense. Nothing prevents them from throwing to Harris in the flat with Watt in as a blocker.
In some respects, Canada reminds me of a mad scientist. A million creative ideas in his head but not enough organization of thought to make use of them. He might actually be better as an assistant to an OC, rather than trying to put together a full gameplan for a team.Comment

Whatever the reason - and there must be one or a few - Canada's game plans sucked beyond sucking. How many games were nothing short of pathetic until Ben used the hurray up in the 4th? 3 plays and punt for the vast majority of the game - pathetic, lifeless, listless, lethargic.Exactly. I could care less about Watt carrying the ball. But he could have made Harris' life a bit less painful as the lead blocker.

I might be in the minority by I think the Steelers should make an effort to sign Haden. I know his play dropped off quite a bit last season (no INTs for the first time in five years). And he said he wouldn't play safety but maybe move him inside to slot CB. Keep Sutton and Spoon outside. Pierre and Maulet are backups. I wouldn't offer the $5M some analysts are suggesting but maybe $3 or $4M?Comment

I agree with you on Haden. Still above average player and good locker-room presence.I might be in the minority by I think the Steelers should make an effort to sign Haden. I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.Comment

Barf - this smacks of a "let's make sure we don't have a losing season but not really compete for a title" move.I might be in the minority by I think the Steelers should make an effort to sign Haden. Sutton and Haden were terrible in coverage, they should be looking to eventually upgrade both. Cincy and others will feast on that CB room. Again.Comment

I think he'd be worth that on a short term deal. I think his last deal had an AAV of $11M. That's a pretty steep drop, but he is getting to be very old for a CB.I might be in the minority by I think the Steelers should make an effort to sign Haden. I think he'll end up with a deal that pays him more, and / or gives him more term than I'd want to commit.
We'll see.Comment

This was one FA the Steelers knew when it was time.
I think the Steelers pulled one on the Ravens. We got the Worm and they got a one year rental. Happy for AV sucking some money out of the Rats;

They expect Ebron to be cut (no surprise). Also expect Landry to be cut by the Browns. Guess WR will be high on their draft list.Last edited by NorthCoast; 02-24-2022, 08:03 AM.Comment
