I think its smart to do it this way and it gives the new GM a year to get acclimated. He gets to watch the team perform in real time and then gets the keys to the castle.
There's more than one way to skin a cat, but what it means is biz as usual in Pgh., which is OK if you're not looking for any wins in the post-season. Move along, nothing to see here.

The Steelers are in the business of winning in the regular season 1st. Win in the regular season and make the post season then anything can happen.
"Anything can happen" including not winning a playoff game in 5 years, which is what happened, which is will what is gonna happen again. Even in the 80's, with all those bad QBs, we managed to win a few playoff games.

Yea, I get it: You think if you keep pretending all is right with the Steelers, it will happen, just keep ignoring reality. Every draft pick is a future hall of famer, every decision by Tomlin is great. How's that been working out for you?

Yea, we get it. You think if you keep pretending that whining, complaining and repeating the same negative things over and over and over again ad infinitum it will happen, just keep ignoring that posters on a Steelers message board have no power or say over front office decisions.

How's that been working out for you?

So that’s it. Agree with everything or find a new team?
How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?

Wait, I'm trying to actually understand your point here. You think, that since the posters in here do not make personnel, etc. decisions for the Steelers, that one should not express his opinion about the team on this board? So, when fans give their opinion on talk radio, they do so because they believe the decision makers for the team are listening? I'm trying to grasp your point here. It is not clear, or at least, not logical, that I can decipher.

Yup, that appears to be the logic of the "endless apologizer" crew. You must comply and agree with every team decision or that's it: find another team to root for, end of story. Every draft pick is the best, every hire is perfect, all Tomlin decisions are exemplary, and so on and so forth.

first of all, how about stop lying with the exaggerations?

I have never said that every draft pick is a future hall of famer and every decision by Tomlin is great and I get tired of constantly reading about how everyone on this board says false narratives like that.

I sure hope they don’t disagree with any politicians and still live in this country…
