one on one with Art II

He sounds pretty satisfied with the 2021 season. "We showed the ability to keep fighting in games and in the season." Great. Is that how we are to judge seasons from here on out?

And get ready for at least one season with Mason and Haskins as our QB, it sounds. "Mason has a winning Record in the NFL and we plan on signing him to a new deal." Welcome back to the 1980's-1990's Steelers, at best. Those teams played solid D and had good O lines and rushing games. So, I guess we hope to live up to those days (with bums at QB. Well, maybe not all bums but no QBs worthy of a "franchise" label, anyways).

Every season is not going to be great. The team is going to go through transitions years and rough patches. This is true of sports in general.

You can find another team if you are not satisfied with the Steelers way. No one forces you to be a Steelers fan.

I don't know man....... A lot can be said for individuals who are reasonable and understanding sports fans. The negative energy that you display is just bad.

Rooney lives in the real world where he recognizes he has a young, incomplete OL, a QB with diminishing skills, lost his most experienced WR, etc. He's seen this before and knows living in some fan's dream world where they have all the answers but don't have to make anything happen is a dream world.
"My team, may they always be right, but right or wrong...MY TEAM!"

That comment doesn’t surprise me. He was happy with almost making the playoffs a couple years ago.

Mason has first round grades, Ben was holding Tomlin back and we have a bunch of cap money.
Zero excuse not to win our division next year.
How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?

Didn't watch the video. But sounds like the translation is "we didn't really mean it when we said we were competing for the SB this year".

I think it's fine not to truly compete for the SB every year, but be honest about it.

Yup, our fans say the same thing and then after the season, pretend they knew it was going to be a ‘rebuilding’ year…

I'm surprised she mentioned 5 years without a playoff win. Sort of a cliche response as to be expected. The best he could say about Rudolph is he has a winning record lol, that doesn't sound like a very winning endorsement to me, I believe he's 5-4 as a starter.

Of course we, nor any team, is going to compete for a championship every year, anyone with a 10th of a working brain knows this. It doesn't even need stated. Even the greatest dynasties in all of sports have an end: UCLA in college hoops, the Celtics with Bill Russell, various Yankee spells, the 70's Steelers, 80's 9ers, the 2000's Pats - ALL ended. But I guess the Rooneys think they'll keep attendance up with the utterance of "we go for the Lombardi every year."

And if they plan on entering next season with Mason as our starting QB, do you think they really think we will be contending for a ring? Mason vs. Burrows, Mahomes, Allen, Herbert, and that's just the AFC.

Bingo. And don't make desperation signings to get to 9 wins and that cost $25M in dead money the next season.

He’s not going to bury people on video. It’s called coach/owner speak. A lot more is going on behind the scenes to improve this team for next season.

So the Steelers should simply cheat the fans of their hard earned money by not attempting to improve the team. Got it. I don't agree with your thought process. I agree with the Steelers thought process to attempt to improve the team.

The Steelers are in the business of winning in the regular season 1st. Win in the regular season and make the post season then anything can happen.

Don’t try to reason. To some, Rooney, Colbert and Tomlin are the devil.
