And that's my whole point........their buisness model isn't working in today's NFL. We need to update our business model to work in today's NFL. Ours isn't working anymore. Mainly because our scouting dept. isn't hitting on prospects like it used to.Last edited by Steel Maniac; 03-17-2023, 11:29 AM. -
would be interesting to see mahomes on that 04 team with Tuman, Hines, el, and wilson as his weapons.
not exactly kelce and Tyreek out there.
theres the o line in the 09 season as well. We saw what a bad OL did to Mahomes in the SB vs. Tampa
at least KC knows how it’s bread is buttered.
THEY improved the OL after that SB
and I highly doubt you’ll ever see KC spend 11 of 14 top two round draft picks on defensive players trying to relieve their great defenses they had in the 70s.
They know what it takes to win in todays game.Leave a comment:

And while some won't want to hear it, Ben was never as good as Mahomes is. Ben has 0 1st team all-pros (no 2nd team either). Mahomes already has 2 (+1 2nd team). Ben was pretty much never in consideration for MVP or OPoY. Mahomes has been MVP 2x and OPoY 1x.
Ben was usually considered to be around a top 5 QB. Mahomes is generally considered to be a top 2 QB (when he isn't considered to be just the best payer in the league). I think there's a reason that Mahomes is the guy that broke the cap% barrier. Maybe Brady could have done it too.
Ben was a great player. A generational talent for any team.
But Mahomes is a generational talent for the league.
It's like the difference between a "normal" billionaire and someone like Musk. When compared to normal people, they are both phenomenally wealthy. But when compared to each other, there's still a big difference.

My original point was that while great QBs ALWAYS make teams competitive elite paid ones don’t win it all. Mahommes beat the odds, ONCE.
The idea that I suggested highly paid QBs make a team trash is false.
I fully expect that the Chiefs will be playoff bound and fighting for it as long as they have Mahommes. In order to win they will have to overcome a less and less talented roster to do it which it gonna be tough to do.

Let's make a case study and watch how the Chiefs handle these obstacles? Let's all take note.Leave a comment:

Great pass rush, defense gets turnovers, they are doing what they are suppose to do.
They've been in 3 of the last 4 super bowls right? I think they know what their doing. Getting out of the AFC hasn't seemed that hard for them the last 4 years. Just saying....Leave a comment:

KC is losing some players for sure, and I think it will be tougher to repeat, but when you have a top generational QB you'll always be in the fight.Leave a comment:

Let's cool the jets a bit here.
Repeating in the NFL is very hard.
Mahomes is an amazing player. But the AFC is very tough IMO. Expecting them to win again next year is a stretch (for any team).
Lots of teams fall off cliffs when they win a SB. We did it twice.
The Rams just did it.
TB was good again the year after they won, but weren't good last season.
Assuming that the hotness from last season will win again is usually not a great call. I'll take the field (which is the easy bet).
they are managing their cap successfully. So all this " Cap is gonna get you" stuff is just sour grapes.
Everyone here knows how hard it is to repeat.
*** who's genius idea was it to pull this thread up from the achieves? Props to whomever.Last edited by Steel Maniac; 03-16-2023, 05:39 PM.Leave a comment:

Well, they just restructured Mahomes contract..clearing 9.6 mil. And are poised to repeat. So all this " gonna get you in the end stuff" seems like sour grapes to me; showing frustration from some unexpected posters who are generally rah rah guys for the status quo around here. Now I see that secretly, they really are as upset about the last decade plus of wasting away a franchise QB like I am.
Now we are getting somewhere!

I have never seen you this happy about a football team.
In all his years and multiple championships even TipRoast never had so much fun gloating.Leave a comment:
