actually I heard yeterday the chiefs petitioned the league to change the rules but the owners turned it down before even thinking of bringing it to a voteComment

I'm OK with the rules as they are now. But it would be interesting to do something that forced agressiveness and showed off skill players on both sides.
How about: Each team gets 1 set of downs on offense from their own 20 yard line. You can run whatever plays you want but you get one set of downs. The team that gets the most yardage wins.
If both teams get all the way to the enzone or both teams gain nothing, you do it again until one team outgains the other on that series.
It would make for quick overtimes. And each team gets their shot no matter what. And in regulation, I think teams might want to avoid overtime, instead of playing for it.Last edited by Eich; 01-26-2022, 10:59 AM.Comment

I think you could make the 2-point conversion a more attractive option in regulation time by moving the Xtra point back 5 more yards.Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!
I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.Comment

Close to what I said earlier. Just play the OT like you were transitioning from the 1st to 2nd quarter or from the 3rd to 4th quarter.Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

What if you made FGs worth different amounts based on length.
What if you eliminated FGs altogether. I personally get annoyed how easy it is to quickly get in field position to tie a game with a FG with almost no time remaining.
What if all TOs had to be used before the 2 min warning?sigpicComment

What if you eliminated XPs all together? Seems that would make it harder to tie.

I'd keep everything the same in regulation but make OT quick and focused on skill players.

I actually think that's better than the arbitrary coin toss anyway.
It probably gives the advantage to the team that was leading over the team that was coming back.Comment
