Wonder if we can get an assist on the weather from the big guy? Looks like it’s raining and snowing in KC on Fri/Sat but then should be 29-30 degrees and clear at kickoff Sun night.

Maybe hold that snow back for another day or so and dump on this game.

Plus a night game so maybe it’s past Pat’s bed time???

Also just checked PiT vs KC history and we’re 12-8 all time @ KC.

And we’re 23-13 against them all time.

We’ve had 2 playoff games at KC and we’re 1-1. Won by 2 most recently. And lost in OT by 3 in 94.

KC all time in pkayoffs are 15-20.

      Steelers are 36-26.

Quick processing of the numbers tells me…..

      STEELERS WIN.

Anything can happen on any given Sunday/weekend. A few turnovers go our way, Watt brings the heat, Ben doesn't turn the ball over, suddenly, we're beating the Chiefs.
I think we play well against teams that don't have explosive offenses.

The D can slow them down so that the O doesn't need to do much.

I didn't want KC or CIN in the playoffs.

          But beggars can't be choosers.

Digging into the old Steelers KC playoff games, I noticed that KC’s one win against us in OT was lead by none other than Old Timer - Joe Montana.

Seems poetic that an old guy would win this matchup again. Just a different old guy on a different team this time around.

Lol creeping dead, it is a weird team, doesn't seem like the team even backed into the playoffs, the team is just there playing this weekend somehow.

I keep forgetting about the weather, in the previous matchup the weather was pretty windy I believe which didn't do Ben any favors that is for sure, could be a big factor.

true, but when your weakness is scoring points and stopping the run any good team is going to be a tough matchup.

For probabaly the last 5 years, everyone has been screaming about playing more no-huddle in games. This would be a good one to just let Ben go nuts with it right from the get-go. No-huddle, reverses, flea flickers, mis-directions, QB sneaks. Whatever is in their bag, now is the time to pull it all out.

I'd also like to see Ben roll out more often to buy himself a little more time. He's so concerned with getting rid of the ball in less than 3 seconds that our wides don't have the chance to get open.
That was my thought. Do it like (I think it was) the '05 AFCCG against Denver when Ben came out slinging it in the first half and the game was never really close.

The difference is that Ben was mobile at that stage of his career. Many of the throws he was making were with him on the move after escaping the pocket. Unfortunately, we won't be seeing any of that, even if Ben wanted to try it, he can't. He has to make every play from the pocket and being stationary.

Yep. But at least we get the chance to try.

Hoping that we can keep in close and Steelers our way to victory.

yeah, we got hot in the last month in 2005.

But we were 9-3 with ben starting (2-2 with batch/maddox)
that extrapolates to 12-4 with starting all 16 games

if there was a team that took us lightly for the 7-5 record we had at one time, they were going to pay for it.

                          AND THEY DID !!!!!!!!!!

Some Browns fan said he will buy Ben’s bumblebee jersey and wear it to every Browns game in 2022 if they win the Super Bowl. It’s a safe bet but I’d love to see it!

                              A couple of thoughts...

                              1) I wonder how much of the JuJu practicing is a glimmer of hope vs a way of making the Chiefs have to gameplan for him? Obviously even if he does play his snaps will be limited but how much of this is a clever tactical misdirection on the part of the Steelers

                              2) I think everyone agrees that the Steelers have to play to keep Mahommes off the field. Problem is ball control ain't exactly up Matt Canada's sleeve. I can only hope that Tomlin has "informed him" his plays before the sticks are unacceptable and that this team has to be more of a North/South team as far as gameplans are concerned. Not sure we will get as much out of the Jet sweep as we did against the Ravens.

We could survive a 2nd and 12 against the Ravens, because they weren't actually an offensive juggernaut

                              3) Wildcards on Defense - Watt is gonna be double teamed. I was kind of hoping to see a coming out game from this guy vs the Ravens especially the revolving door that Villanueva has been this year. Alex Highsmith has to have a coming out party on Sunday in my opinion. This will enable Watt to be singled up and then the hounds of hell will be on Patrick's tail.

Devin Bush - it's been over a year now. It's now or never. Yeah you will get another year, but this whole season can be forgiven if you come up big on the interior on Sunday

                              4) Chase - He needs to be Chase of last year and not this year where he has a problem with gravity and winning combat balls. it's gotta happen for us to have a shot

btw, I am not adding those who I expect to ball on Sunday - Najee always shows up, Ben is gonna give what's left of Ben. Muth will be there - he just has to pick up the every inch of real estate matters in his radar. Minkah/Haden/Edmunds - I believe they will be there to play.

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.
