but we faced a healthy Henry last year with our mostly healthy defense and we won.

TN is a good team but they are also a team we tend to play well against because they run a traditional offense.
Alualu and Tuitt make that front 7 tough to run on, and Williams was there as well stuffing the middle, who if I remember correctly, had a huge game that day. This year's D would have been gashed for 200 vs a healthy King, let's not kid ourselves. Take the win, and don't look back.

In the NFL , at the end of the season , it's like stud poker.
You have to play with the cards you are dealt. That's it.

What ifs are for children not for the real world of today's NFL. They all make too much money so despite what some say. They don't all want to win. I get my $50,000 for the week so who gives a f*ck. That's where the coach comes in. Motivate these spoiled rich kids to play. Tomlin is better then most at doing this but he just isn't great at judging talent. That being said motivation can overcome talent and it usually always does.

Enjoy this week people who knows what's going to happen. We had no business winning that game but we did. Let's hope Mike T can motivate this half a**ed group to beat the Chiefs. We are due for a good game.

Nobody will call NC a hater. He evaluates games honestly and fairly.

I agree 100 percent with his assessment here as would any reasonable fan.

Our team is NOT very good.

"Keeping it real" is to acknowledge that we are THE LEAST TALENTED TEAM IN THE TRENCHES ON BOTH SIDES.

Add to that an aging QB, a secondary with ONE capable corner who is injured all the time, and our best (yes I said our best) inside linebacker plays scared of his shadow since his injury.

Keeping it real is to know this team is EASILY a lower 3rd team in talent.

The fact that we won half our games amd are still in the running for a playoff birth DESPITE the above is an overachievement.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

              or not..

we really have no idea and a lot of people predicted a Steeler loss without Henry.

you just made up a hypothetical and then told people not to look back… lol.

              this isn’t how it works.

we won yesterday.. that should be the end of it, no need to make up “what would’ve happened” when we all witnessed what did happen.

It is hypothetical of course based on a personal opinion. Just ignore it if you don't agree, and move on. It's a message board loaded with opinions and/or hypotheticals, so it's no big deal.

The facts are they beat them, and on to next week. You are correct there.

yeah.. the same people who predicted a below .500 team due to a new OL, aging QB and question marks in our secondary are now like “see, we suck and its all because of coaching”

yet.. after a win its nothing but reminders that we actually suck and were lucky to win.

Ok.. but we won, can we be happy or do we have to constantly acknowledge how terrible we are and how we would’ve lost if it wasn’t for a million lucky reasons?

I wish I felt better about our chances.

                      predicting losses is fine

trying to convince people they shouldn’t be happy we won is weird.. lol.

Throwing a wet blanket on the board immediately after a much needed win is a bit odd but we all have our different ways of celebrating.

A real fan would understand that it is OUR DUTY to call out pretend fans like YOU Flippy.

                          2. I suspect the average age of this board is 65+. I feel like I’m in a senior home discussing politics with my drunk uncle.
                          "If we only had Noll...."

If Noll had to deal with free agency...
                          1. Greene would have left
                          2. Blount would have left
                          3. Bradshaw would have DEFINITELY left.

                          3. Most are beyond self centered and can’t see through their own point of view. It’s a shane, but that’s the world now. I personally prefer people who think different than me because I know all of my own thoughts and they get stale. I know everything in the modern world has to be black and white. But in Flippyville it’s cool to be hopeful and frustrated simultaneously. It’s cool to think I’m an idiot. And other people’s thoughts don’t really irritate me.
Everything is not black and white.
There are just people who agree with ME and WRONG people. Don't try to imply that makes me closed minded!!

Since I tend to always be correct, I am a "realist" to admit my brilliance despite knowing such honesty will rub the ignorant masses the wrong way.

To deny that truth would be a form of mock humility, which is being dishonest.

I'm glad you think it is cool for people to think you are an idiot. I don't have to censor myself anymore when replying to you.

                          4. Some need to drink more. Others need to cut back. And some others probably need a prescription. And others need a downer. Any time we get irritated with someone, that’s a negative emotion that in reality only impacts you. Seriously I feel lucky I’m too lazy to hold onto emotions.
Mind altering drink is the escape of the feeble minded masses.

Clarity of thought is needed to FULLY BASK in my intellectual superiority.

Getting totally wasted for me would serve ONE purpose. To give others a fair fight in debate.

It is akin to giving points to an underdog in a bet.

                          YOU WANT A DRINK?

The Lemming serves up STEELER KOOL-AID daily my friend. THAT is drink that is truly refreshing.

                          5. Remember the phrase homosayswhat? I know that’s not PC, but it was something kids would say growing up to get people to say what. I feel like some on this board are masters of that game and some don’t realize they’re even playing that game every time they post. Is there a PC version of that game today?
I don't know if there is a PC version of that game. Seems kinda weird, but I use a Mac so I don't do PC games.

                          6. I think most of us have OCD to a degree. And I feel like it paralyzes some not being able to control the world around them. This stands out to me daily in a lot of other forums in life as everything has become a way bigger deal than it was in the past and everything is so serious.
No need to control the world. People can believe what they want. They are free to be wrong. No need to change

Just exposing how wrong opposing opinions are brings my heart joy.

                          7. Most people I know from the Burgh talk way too much crap about our sports teams and players and coaches. And it bonds us together. Most of us just wanna laugh and have a good time and razz the folks that are the outsiders that just don’t get us. Is it childish. Sure. Are we idiots? Sure. But it brings us together and we can enjoy our escape from all the other jags in the world with our fam. We all get older and life happens, but we’re all more alike than not. And we should just enjoy one another. Does Mike T suck? Yeah, sometimes. Is he good at some stuff. Sometimes. Does our OLine suck? Yeah. Does our D suck? Yeah. But these Steelers are our ugly red headed step child and we’ve got the birthright to agonize over them and hope for better days.
OK, this is my only non-sarcastic reply. My honest POV.

                          It's indeed all good.
I have no real malice. Just having fun debating.

EVEN WITH ALL THE FAKE FANS.

I like a good debate and this forum is an outlet that spares my wife that joy.

Colbert was the GM for Cowher correct? How many suspect character guys did we pick up or draft under Coach Cowher?

Mike T has a greater influence on which players we pick then you give him credit for. Mike T has a belief that he can redeem people. Would Cowher have let AB live off campus at Latrobe? Colbert picks the players but make no mistake about it, it is a joint decision. I'm surprised you don't see that.

Ben is actually considered suspect if you want to get technical since he had
                              off field issues.

I don’t think we can predict which players will turn into drama queens once
they get a taste of the fame.

Is there any real suspect characters besides AB?

and how bad is AB if the Pats immediately picked him up and he now follows Brady wherever he goes?

We aren’t any worse or better than any other team when it comes to player distractions.

                                3. Bradshaw would have DEFINITELY left.

I don't know if there is a PC version of that game. Seems kinda weird, but I use a Mac so I don't do PC games.

No need to control the world. People can believe what they want. They are free to be wrong. No need to change

Just exposing how wrong opposing opinions are brings my heart joy.

OK, this is my only non-sarcastic reply. My honest POV.

                                It's indeed all good.
I have no real malice. Just having fun debating.

EVEN WITH ALL THE FAKE FANS.

I like a good debate and this forum is an outlet that spares my wife that joy.
                                Well played.
