In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

At the start of the season I said this was a .500 football team. About 6 weeks ago.. when it looked like we were sunk.. I said we would find a way to win a few games at the end.. because this team wouldnt give up.
Tomlin has his obvious flaws... but I give him credit for finishing strong... and making it to the post season. He has outperformed expectations (with this year's group).Comment

Some have gone dark..
most will thank the Raiders or Ben or anyone else besides Tomlin.
One thing I noticed is the FB articles that u have tons of Tomlin hate have been much less vocal with detractors.Steelers 27

Maybe we beat KC, who knows? How many thought JAX would beat the Colts (with their play-off lives on the line)?
Probably not many.Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!
I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.Comment

I''ll give credit to Tomlin on his decision making during yesterdays game. Punting on 4th & 1 was probably the best decision with our bad offensive line. And that hard to be a hard decision to swallow a half yard away from a first down & close to FG range.Comment

This may be one of Tomlin's best coaching jobs. We have a severely flawed offense and a defense that struggles at times, but yet they give 100% every week. The result is we are in the play offs to the disappointment of so called fans of the team. That comes from leadership which start with Tomlin.
But like you said, the "small men" who hate him can't give him credit for anything"My team, may they always be right, but right or wrong...MY TEAM!"Comment

This team never laid down even though ot appeared so at times because we simply are a young team.
We overachieved this year.
I have a friend who swore there was no way we would win more than 6 games.
How many had us with 9.5 wins when this season started? Not manySteelers 27

How many thought we'd win the division LAST SEASON?
Consensus preseason 3rd last season. Preseason 3rd or 4th this season.
Definitely not a playoff team outside of "homer" media.sigpic

We exceeded my expectations this year. I did not think we'd make the playoffs.
Happy to be wrong!Comment

I'll give Tomlin credit, especially for yesterday.
Punting on 4th and 1 was the right move (since we refuse to ever do a QB sneak).
He called a timeout when the Ravens had the ball, which left our offense time (not sure exactly what point it was, but I remember commenting on it).
Kicking the FG to end the game, instead of running a few meaningless plays was smart.
Going for the 4th down on the last drive (the pass to Ray Ray) was somewhat of a gutsy call. I'm not talking about actually going for it, I mean actually throwing a pass to the sticks.
He also had some really sweet (not inappropriate at all...) dance moves after the game on the instagram video.
Now, how many of you that were pining for Mason Rudolph earlier this year want to give Ben credit?Comment

What I learned yesterday:- Hassenauer teased in his first start but yesterday showed why he is a backup. No push in the interior of the line against a varsity defense.
- Haeg is not a starting LT, just ok in run blocking but pass pro was shaky
- The OL in general made it a lot tougher on the offense; 4th qtr in a tight game and Haeg, LeGlue, Okorafor committed penalties to set them back.
- We can probably scratch D Carr from the QB shortlist; after his win yesterday I don't see the Raiders letting him go.
- Speaking of Carr, it was interesting to hear him talk about being buds with Rodgers...said they talk frequently.... wonder if they talk about the Steelers?!!?
- Canada has a long way to go as OC; I was excited by this hire but man have I been disappointed. His playcalling has been mediocre at best and baffling at worse. But I think they will bring him back to see what a more mobile (slightly) QB can do with his offense.
- Roethlisberger still has that 'want to' but his arm is getting weaker by the week; couple of plays where passes would have been completions but he simply didn't have the juice to get it there. And his fourth down pass to RayRay was almost in the dirt (kinda like Rudolph's in the DET game that everyone flamed him for).
- Watt gets a lot of press for his sacks but my money keeps going to Heyward. The guy has amazing hustle for a player his age. And he can't be blocked one on one.
- BAL did everything they could to try to shut out Watt from the record, he was double teamed or chipped a ton yesterday, they shortened the passing game to quick throws. Kudos to Watt for making a play that counted.
- The Steelers have two really good TEs and they have finally come around to using them in the passing game. I think they will be key in the playoffs.
- Mayfield is CLE's starting QB next season! That's a good thing for the Steelers if they had any thoughts of grabbing a FA QB. One less competitor in the mix.
- DJ is starting to be a concern with recent drops. Thru 3/4 of the season, 0 drops. Now with more than a half dozen, including a couple yesterday. Heading in the wrong direction for the playoffs.
- Claypool had another falling down attempt on a sideline pass, then showed something on that TD catch. Pretty much his story this season.
- Fitz is the leading tackler on the Steelers by a large margin. For those that might not know, that's not a good thing.
- I think the Steelers did well enough this season, with some really tight, exciting games, that they will again be featured in nationally broadcast games next season!!
