If Mason Rudolph play well, we should win. There are no guaranteed wins determined by the performance of any one player. There is no excuse being built in advance for Rudolph either. If anything, we are both agreeing that his play today should go a long way in determining whether he's a viable solution post Ben. Perhaps you should consider taking a less black or white position. The full color of life (and truth) exists between those poles.

Our defense WILL play well. No discussion needed on that side of the ball.If Mason Rudolph play well, we should win. There are no guaranteed wins determined by the performance of any one player. So it’s all about MR playing well on offense because WE KNOW Najee is going to be Najee.
It’s all about MR; posters who are already making excuses for MR are being ridiculous.Comment

You do understand the Steelers have allowed more points than they have scored? There is another half of the team involved with winning or losing games. If the Lions score 30 pts and PIT loses are you still putting that on Rudolph?Look… we are playing a winless team who everyone has been able to move the ball on. If MR plays well, we win this game. It’s that simple.
The Eagles don’t have a receiving corps… but they beat the lions. The Ravens don’t have the greatest receiving corps… but they beat the lions.
We’ve got posters who are already trying to make excuses for MR before the game is played!!
If MR plays well, we win. If he doesn’t , we lose. Today’s game is all about how MR plays.
Some of you guys with your excuses are incredible!!!Comment

Your deflecting…..
Let’s do the math;
1. Defense will play well.. check.
They will be stacking the box against Najee; how do you stop that?? The QB must make some throws.
This game ( weather you like it or not) comes down to Rudolph playing well and keeping those stacked boxes off of Najee.
You can’t hide it or sugarcoat it today NC. It’s on MRComment

I’m not going to let you deflect from MR’s responsibilities today. This is what a back up is suppose to do.
We have the defense; it’s up to him to help Najee today by doing his job!!
Against the worse team in the league and we’ve got a few who are making the bed up for defeat. I really can’t believe a few of you.Comment

Thank you LP!!! I too expect a good game from MR
We are the Pittsburg mother******* Steelers with a great defense. If we can’t win against the worse team in the league , at home, then we’ve got serious issues on the offensive side of the ball!!
Our back up ( who has been here long enough) better be able to make some throws against one of the worse defenses in the league to support the running game.
I really can not believe we have a few posters making the bed up for defeat.
Just when I think you guys can’t surprise me with your watered down standards of Steeler football , you guys say some crap like this!! Gzzzz.Last edited by Steel Maniac; 11-14-2021, 11:15 AM.Comment

Steelers D is ranked 8th in allowing 21.1 points per game.
Steelers O is ranked 23rd in scoring 20.1 points per game.
So the reason we are allowing more points than we scored is almost entirely on our offense not scoring more points per game. So maniac is correct, if Rudolph & the offense do well & score points our D is good enough that we will win barring a barrage of weird turnovers or special team let downs.Comment

This is “ grab your nuts” time for MR. No coddling; no excuses!! Get the job done today , against a sorry team, at home, or your not worth what we are paying you.Comment

I’m really upset that we’ve got posters setting the bed, making excuses for MR!! WTF!!!!
I’m really pissed about this. We all should be on the same page on this one. WTF!!Comment

You have low expectations. And this is just an example of it.
Expecting us to lose , at home, to the worse team in the league is unacceptable to my standards as a Steeler fan.
I wouldn’t have expected this from you but I guess I shouldn’t be shocked. You think a coach that can’t win with stacked teams for over a decade in the playoffs is a good coach.
You’ve hit an all time low in Steeler standards and expectations. All time low.
I’m disappointed in you but you are just reflecting the current low standards of your young Steeler generation.Last edited by Steel Maniac; 11-14-2021, 11:37 AM.Comment

Noodle arm? Do you watch the games or just parrot what your hear being said in the national media? That connection between Rudolph and Washington hasn't materialized as most of us thought it would either. However, I agree with you and Maniac in that I expect a good game from Rudolph. I expect that we will see a heavy dose of Najee and hopefully that will open things up for the passing game.
Despite it being a painfully obvious fact, you guys just don't seem to understand that so many variables impact the outcome of a game. With Ben or without him, this Steeler offense is going to generally keep every game close. In close games things like turnovers, penalties, missed kicks, and failed 3rd down and 1 conversions can dictate the outcome of a game. That defense you guys keep touting may have decent statistical rankings but they have also collapsed in the 2nd half of recent games. Just go read any Steeler news site this week and you'll see an article about it. Any of those factors could otherwise wipe out a good game from Rudolph.
It seems you guys have a very rigid thought process. I do agree with much of what you are saying but you both seem bent on making this more about a team win than the actual performance of the quarterback. That is where we diverge.sigpic

I agree with everything you said there except me being a parrot. I don't listen to the media so i didn't know others were calling him that. By the way i love Big Ben one of my favorite players ever. But he can't connect long much anymore. Just sayin'Noodle arm? Do you watch the games or just parrot what your hear being said in the national media?
