I think this is kind of the genesis of our current offense.
Didn't Switzer say something about how Ben wanted to run an offense like Brady?
I was just thinking the Steelers are starting out this season a little like TB and Brady did last. Remember early on their offense was pretty bad prior to their bye week. I think BA was trying to fit Brady into his style of offense but it was failing. Then the HC and QB got together at the bye and the rest is history. Let's hope for the same result!

This right here, and with all the talk of Ben's declining performance it's hard not to look back at the last 10+ seasons of his career and think about how many of them were simply wasted and it's not like the Steelers weren't perennial favorites in the AFC during this time. 3 playoff wins is all the team has to show for it.
This is the truth.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.
Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.
*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***
Whatever, Lemming fought Feltdizz in several threads about not wanting to give Bell that contract. Lemming doesn’t believe in big contracts to any skill position other than QB.
His argument has always been look at the teams winning recent Super Bowls and how their constructed.
With draw your talons. Lol. Lemmings isn’t one of those.
No talons out.
As I said, I don’t recall.
Waiting for someone to tell me lemming bad mouthed draft picks, FA and coaches. You know, the other part of my post.
How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?

Why? Does bad mouthing players and coaches win some type of award with you?
Some people wish for the best and don’t bad mouth players and coaches. They may me critical or critique their play in. game or coaching decision but they aren’t going to call them names or bad mouth them.

Thank you all for "defending my honor"
As for "the rest of your post"?
Picks?
Why would I "bad mouth" draft picks I HAVE NEVER SEEN PLAY? What qualifies fans who spend a minute scouring "Ourlads" after the fact to criticize picks?
I have criticized picks though. Last one was Juju. Considering the 2 secondary players I wanted did jack squat in the league, and Juju has been to a a Pro Bowl I was reminded I am not a scout.
I don't do that anymore, because I don't know more than scouts, the GM, or coaches who are paid to do that.
I "choose" to just be hopeful rather than prematurely skeptical. Why assume they made a mistake before it is proven. You might be upset for no reason if you are wrong.
Free Agents I "did" see play?
Argued against:
1. Offering Bell
2. Extending Brown (BTW me and OV... the ONLY ONES ON THIS FORUM who were against it) I suggested offering Gilmore instead who was offered almost exactly the same money as Brown.
3. Extending Pouncey.
Coaches? Really?
Always critical of Arians for one.
Tomlin?
I spent HOURS...THIS MONTH OF SEPTEMBER, arguing Tomlin (not Ben) was the biggest reason for the Jax playoff loss.
HOURS AND HOURS ARGUING THAT DEAD POINT.
The MAJORITY of my input THIS MONTH was that topic.
Here is a thought.
Tomlin just "might" be neither great nor horrible. You don't seem to grasp that pov even is possible.
Your problem whisper is that you are SO agenda driven, you see EVERYBODY as extreme as you. You don't see nuance, only absolutes.
I got about a page into this thread and thought, "are that many people really saying that Brady wasn't the favorite?" What is wrong with y'all?!?!?
Even if you had your doubts prior to last year, taking Tampa with LEFTWICH as OC should have sealed it for you. Seriously, TEN super bowl appearances - of the ones he didn't go to (whether with Cowher or Tomlin), Ben has averaged about 1-in-3. That aint too shabby.
No, i'm not saying they faced the pats annually, so don't give me that silly response either. I *am* saying that even if they had made it to the AFCC, they probably woulda lost to the Pats anyway. We have been the 70's raiders... The pats were the 70's steelers. Get over it.
Frankly, I'm glad Brady left NE and didn't win a 7th there - at least we're still tied for most. LOL
Meanwhile, I hope the team picks up a vet o-lineman or two during this season to keep Ben upright and let him ride off into the sunset healthy.

Cowher gets all credit for reaching 5 Superbowls because you cannot credit Tomlin with any success until there is no hint of Cowhers scent on the team.
Considering the multiple turnovers BY COWHERS PLAYER, Cowher is at fault for the Browns loss.

The best part about the Cowher's players argument is that it's simultaneously saying that (i) the players are the most important thing for winning / losing and (ii) winning and losing is all because of the coach.
