This offense has SUCKED in short yardage situations. If we had come up short, and we likely would have, the game was over. And Tomlin would get grief for whatever play didn’t make it.
I see no issue with Tomlin’s call. There was plenty of time left.
We just ran completely out of horsepower.
$80 million dollar man gave us ONE game. No Bush, Haden, Alualu.
And the Raiders are a good team.Comment

they just picked up 9 with a throw to the TE.
vegas has the whole field to defend. do you think they sell out for half a yard while up by two scores?Comment

Lots of blame for every other unit.
Any for Ben?Last edited by Northern_Blitz; 09-19-2021, 05:59 PM.Comment

maybe leaving the OL in its current state while they went out and traded for a back up LB and a replacment for vince will seal it regarding ben's career. why would any QB at his age continue to take that punishment.
was there zero OL available? or do they mistakenly again want the build the defense up to the point we've seen in years past while the league continues to neuter that type of team
what's your assessment of the coaching so far this season?
is there another team out there with as many groin injuries as our team?
that seems like a conditioning issue.
is the head coach to much of a friend, too much of "coach cool" to crack the whip on these guys to get in shape?
PS. what's you're opinion of the 4th down call?
we're 2 for 2 with TBW saying it was the right call (not that you're one of those) but interested to hear what you thinkLast edited by NJ-STEELER; 09-19-2021, 06:11 PM.Comment

not looking good.as was the fear during the offseason. you do realize i said we should move on, but wouldn't be surprised if they brought him back. right? why did the coach and FO want him back. they see his performance in practice every day.

Coaching looked good in game one. Defensively for sure. Seems like we used lots of guys in different roles and put together a confusing package for the Bills.
Not so this week. Assuming that's in part due to injuries. But some heart breaking failures on D today. Especially that backbreaking explosive play.
I would say just about everything looks bad on Offense. This includes coaching. Not sure why our original game plan always seems to suck so much that we rarely seem to do anything good for at least a quarter.
I was big on trying to start the rebuild this year. But I was very hopeful after the D looked so good last week.
I'm hoping that we can get healthy quick and that the D can carry the team. Hopefully that's "until the O gets fixed",because that suggests it can be fixed.Comment

I wouldn't have minded a no huddle quick attempt for the 1st down.
But we pretty much never do that. And it's hard to imagine this O coming through on a clutch play like that... Or scoring if they got it.
I don't think the punt was bad.
I probably would have trusted the D more than the O. But I wouldn't have been upset with trying either.
But today it was a crappy choice either way.
And I think NC was right that not making it ends the game (which we basically did shortly after the punt anyway).
So, probably a coin flip. Would be interested to see what the bots think of the win percentages of both options.Comment

i think there was a video that dejan put out where he thinks ben might be the best option for 2022.
i was getting optimistic when i saw that, and yes if he and the offense did look better, i agree that may have been a good choice for 2022
but after 2 games, that's not looking like a good choice for 2022.
yes, i'm a big ben fan. but i'm also a realist. an optimistic realist is probably the best way to describe me.
my thoughts on the upcoming game today was for a blowout (win by double digits) considering our play last week and the raiders play.
I thought the offense would improve but it looked just as bad.
so yes, i'm disappointedComment

Thanks NJ. I thought you were in the bring Ben back and maybe next season too boat. Thanks for correcting me.

we've done that in the past. where did that go??
you saw what vegas did their next series right? after passsing the ball all ove rthe place, they ran the ball 3 times.
they knew taking time off the clock at that point was the best thing they could do.
it left us in a situation where we had to be perfect. and that included a 56 yard record setting in heinz filed FG attempt.
how much diffenret were the percentages of hitting that FG and extending the game then gaining a half yard and having 3 more minutes of game time to get both scores.
Obviously I thought it was a terrible decision, especially considering the score and clock and how the defense was playing.
isn't this why we drafted Najee high? why we brought in a new OC? why we drafted a TE with great hands in the 2nd round.
it made absolutely no sense to meLast edited by NJ-STEELER; 09-19-2021, 06:47 PM.Comment
