Defense seems to have the advantage in the early going of the season. We might surprise, but I won't put money on it.

Not if they don’t call holding penalties like last year at the start of the season.

A look at some stuff from last season against BUF:

            PLUS:
            1. Conner avg'd 1.8 yds/att in last season's BUF game. I have to believe Harris will double that this time around.
            2. 1 out of 10 on 3rd downs; it can't get worse can it?
            3. TOP was lopsided in favor of BUF and that shouldn't surprise given #2. Expect this number will even out as the run game is able to convert short yardage.
            4. This was a close matchup in the first half of the game with BUF only managing a FG on offense. It was Roethlisberger's INT for a TD that started to turn the tide. He won't make that mistake this time.
            5. PIT TEs were targeted 7 times and caught two passes. Muth will double the catches this time around.

            MINUS:
Well yinz know all the minuses already so really don't need to list them.

One thing to keep in mind is that Canada is a rookie NFL OC himself. He could get schooled by McDermott but equally possible is that Canada could surprise McDermott having no tape to fall back on.

I'm hoping that they crowd the LOS assuming short passes and Ben hits them with a bomb early to show that the battle station is fully operational.

Would be really nice to get a TD on the first drive along with some D so we can try to control the clock.

I’m hoping Najee abuses LB’s in the passing game and then finishes them off in the 4th quarter.

Good luck in survival pool. It's gonna be an interesting Wk1!

yeah, last year the Colts eliminated a lot of people.

who you taking this Week 1?

We can handle Buffalo. We're going to stomp the piss out of them, rub their faces in slimy buckets of ivermectin.

It's nice to have dreams. The way we've been scramblin' for DBs, something tells me Allen is going to have a field day. And our O line...(smh).

We have the “ Kendrick Green” thread where posters are debating about who now to pick up for the O-line as well as how overwhelmed Green is on pass protection.

I’m pulling for us to win but it’s a bad sign when we’re still here talking about the O-line 5 days before the game.

Its only a bad sign if you expected a finished product before the first game.

This idea that Green must start game 1 or its a failed pick is a bit misguided.
