I guess NO was doing this a little, but more because of differences in skill set vs. load management I think.

It would be nice if you had confidence in a 2nd QB in case of injury.

But for as many things as I think Tomlin does well, load management (at least of RBs) isn't one of them.
I would hope the NFL would stop adding games now. Gzzzz. The punishment on these guys bodies is real. I understand they want more and more revenue (American way) but you can also kill the golden goose too by tampering with something that's already working fine. I would hate the thought of guys (taking games off) load managing because the season is too long.

yeah, won't happen as long as Tomlin is our coach.

he prefers running the wheels off his lead back.

NO wasn’t doing load management. Brees couldn’t throw deep anymore.

Didn’t he also break a rib or have an injury last year and miss games?

Broken ribs. His arm was shot before the injury anyway.

They were talking about load management of key players today.
I am wondering if letting Roethlisberger play half games makes sense. Let him pitch cleanup.
The time has come for QBBC I think.
i dont think there are enough good quarterbacks to do that

I don't think they will kill the Golden goose. What might happen is the healthiest team will have better odds at winning as the season progresses.

It’s like that now. We just saw Tampa obliterate the Chiefs because the Chiefs
                O-line was decimated by injuries.
Going forward , even more so.

At the end of week 18, you may not need to ask who’s the better team in the playoffs but instead who has the most bodies left?

I think there are plenty of QBs that could play a mistake-free half game. With a balanced offense you are talking about him having to throw maybe 15 passes. Things get dicey when you ask a 2nd stringer to throw 30+ good passes a game.

Thinking on this, it might not be that wrong. If you consider second contracts for RBs are poor value why not run them into the ground and let them sign elsewhere after their rookie deal? The mistake would be running them into the ground and then signing them to a second contract. Like trying to sign Bell.

Hopefully with a back who Canada has history with and who has a different skillset will bring a few more touches his way, and away from Harris. I get that drafting a RB in the first might be a five year max relationship, but let us do whatever we can to make it to five years.

I don't disagree about the injury situation in the league. It will probably get worse.

Even with the banged up Oline Mahomes and the Chiefs didn't make plays that they usually made to make the game more competitive. Mahomes had a history of making plays in less than ideal situations.

Or not having a 2nd option so Toussaint gets carrots in the playoffs when your main back gets hurt.

I don’t know. Constantly sending teams to Europe ; wanting an international league .. not listening to the players who are telling them the international travel is too much. I don’t know. Owners greed seems to know no end.

every year I hear people like you predicting the demise of the NFL.

and yet the NFL only becomes more popular, people love their football and always will.

Play em.. you can’t protect a player from injury. It can happen on any play.
