on topic on this thread... "best in 4 or 5 years" is interesting. I was curious with a last year comparison - he grades out on par with JK Dobbins last year, both behind DeAndre Swift.

Having said that, sometimes it's all about how the guy fits your team

I just hope he can be decent and stay relatively free of injury

Maybe Tomlin has learned something and will split the workload just a bit rather than wear Harris out in 2 or 3 years

This is key for Harris (and really anyone).

Looks like he has all the tools to be successful provided he stays healthy.

By my eye test He looks like the best and He is a big guy at 230+ who looks great hitting the hole to me. Plus I am thinking Derrick Henry as a predecessor to Najee. I go with Saban's history of judging talent. I liked Dobbins also but Najee Harris is better than Dobbins. Watch and see. Najee is L Bell squared.

I see us throwing the ball 30 times or less most weeks with Mason.
I seriously wonder how much time/energy they'll invest in Haskins, knowing that he's one season into his career after being an early 1st round pick. TBH, I'm almost surprised they re-upped Dobbs. I have a hard time thinking they'll go with 4QB and it's too early to really cut Haskins (and you also don't put him on your practice squad).

yeah, good question. I wonder if Dobbs was signed as insurance in case Mason didn’t sign for another year.

Someone has to go. I totally forgot about Haskins but would love to see what he looks like this preseason.

                  grades out?

One area I know he is better is catching the ball. Dobbin’s hands are a little suspect from what I remember... or maybe it was just the drop vs Clemson when he had a sure TD that makes me think he struggles as a pass catcher.

What makes me put Najee so high is his ability to run through defenders. Dude is tough as nails

I'm hoping they invest a great deal of time in Haskins. As of this year it's a zero risk signing...

I don't get the NFL these days. A guy like Najee can get 25 touches a game and he falls to #24. A good strong RB can carry the ball 25 times a game , but the NFL would prefer a skinnier QB who can run but doesn't have the power of a Najee Harris. The skinnier QB is going to get his knees blown out because he doesn't run with power and forward momentum. A guy like Najee can be our #1 offensive weapon ala Franco. Just like Mean Joe said " before Franco got here we weren't winning and after he got here we didn't lose".
The analytics say you don't take a RB in the first round. The part that is sometimes glossed over is that by the time the second pick comes for the better teams most of the top RBs are long gone.

Example; in the last 5 yrs, there were a total of 19 RBs taken by pick 50. Given their draft position, and without trading up (...for a RB, no way), the Steelers would have been able to draft exactly none of these if they waited til their second pick.

This will determine every team's fate this season with the 17 game schedule.
They were talking about load management of key players today.
I am wondering if letting Roethlisberger play half games makes sense. Let him pitch cleanup.
The time has come for QBBC I think.

Yes Harris is better than Dobbins and will prove it this year

Henry looks much bigger than Harris...at least to me. I bet Henry sits at 245+

Agreed. Harris is an all around stud.

yet you didn't think he was worthy of being drafted in the first round.

                                That's an interesting thought.

I guess NO was doing this a little, but more because of differences in skill set vs. load management I think.

It would be nice if you had confidence in a 2nd QB in case of injury.

But for as many things as I think Tomlin does well, load management (at least of RBs) isn't one of them.
