It's not unprecedented, but Tomlin and this FO has gone 3 straight on the same side of the ball only once to start off a draft. And they came away with Artie Burns, Sean Davis and Javon Hargrave (at least he was a good selection). I suspect that they felt like the reached and it left a bad taste in their mouths.

My guess is day 2 leads to one pick on each side of the ball - if a stud C is there at 2.55, I agree, they take him. But then I'd expect round 3 to be on the other side of the ball... not an absolute, just a reflection on the team's tendencies.
I don't disagree with you at all. Steeler history says they won't take 3 players on the same side of the ball with their 1st three picks. My post is simply my opinion or what I hope they do. Do I think they will? Nope But, it is my hope, big and ugly on day two.

Man, the center position might slide even further, could the 1st Center fall to us. ( I am not sure who might need a center)
Do you trade back if Humphrey, Dickerson, Meinerz are all there at 55?
      Or do take one?
Or do you pass hoping one falls to us at 87?
You take Dickerson and move on to round 3. Looking for a CB or LB

I'd turn those around. Dickerson and Humphrey. Then maybe the guy from OSU. Myers.

Could the Steelers trade a player to a team for their 2nd round pick and move into the top 10-12 positions? I don't know who or if any team would go for something like that, but the LV Raiders are in the league.

i bet steeler history doesn't have to many 'last in the league in rushing" seasons either.

and with two 4th round picks, they can go back to back D quickly right after

I have great respect for Mike Mayock, but he's not doing a very good job as the Raiders GM.

he's made a lot of very questionable decisions, and I was very surprised he picked Alex Leatherwood at #17.

              let's give him a call

I didn't think about that, good point, but, deep in my heart I just don't think they will take offensive players in rounds 1,2 & 3, I hope wrong though and they get a couple of road graders.

I would have also said in 2019 that history suggests they won't trade a second rounder plus a third rounder the following year to aggressively move up 10 spots from 20 to 10 to draft an ILB.

I would have also said during the 2019 season that the Steelers would not trade their future first rounder for a safety.

Sometimes you can't go by history.
