Meinerz to me has pro bowl tools but needs more refinement and Humphrey to me is close to plug and play and will easily upgrade the team over Finney or whomever the Steelers played last year a center. Odds are good we can get one of these two, or roll the dice on Dickerson the talented, but injured often Alabama center. So I feel good about checking the center box with one of these three, which odds sy we can get in round two. I don't do injury reports, but personally I would steer away from Dickerson without known how severe the injuries were. Don't roll the dice unless you have too early.

So we can have two rookie starters. RB and Center. Bam!

For round three, I want to go with the best blocking TE in Tommy Tremble, or a Tackle with better ability than say Banner or Chucks, which you can find in round three or four. This is a very deep tackle call.

I'm willing to trade a top blocking TE, who can act as the 5th or 6th best receiving option on the team, which is exactly what Ebron is, and broom the drops, penalties, and weak blocking Ebron provides.

A TE who can block is part of the cure for what we had to play last year.

Harris is going to be a yardage man in the pass, far better than what we have. With Harris, he has excellent hands and a really good feel for the passing game. His catches are going to come at the expense of some ones's, why not the erratic Ebron's?
I like what I've heard about Tremble. But if we go C in the 2nd, I hope a T falls to us in the 3rd.

I think blocking TE is probably the cheapest of our needs if we have to add it through UFA after the draft (JJ or just use the tackle that loses the job in the competition Banner / Chucks / 3rd rounder...even though I would prefer to have someone who's some kind of threat to catch the ball).

If we can solve center issue and T or cb issue that would help. Dickerson and Adebo if I had to toss 2 names out there.

I am all aboard, although odd draft going so heavy on offense ( ideal first 4 picks Harris-Humphrey-Tremble/Long-OT)

I am starting to think we will address our CB issues and D depth after the 4th round and FA after the draft.

Yep, and a few others. If 6 more OL go off the board (and 2 are of the top 3 C) by #45 I’m looking for a partner to trade up for the best OL available in 46-50.

Those two would really be a good haul.

Yes, although both are needs I believe center is a bigger need that OT. We "could" go with Chuks and Banner (although I would not prefer it), but we can't start Finney or Hasenieur long term. Center is the biggest need now.

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

                Another o-line possibility - Quinn Meinerz – 6’3” /320. Runs a 4.95 40. Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Profootballnetwork.com: “If the Steelers snag Harris in Round 1, Wisconsin-Whitewater offensive lineman Quinn Meinerz could be the target at pick 55, if he’s available. The Steelers like Meinerz, and he’d be another terrific fit.”

O-Line coach Klemm attended his pro-day. This kid scored a 9.98 out of 10 on his RAS (Relative Athletic Score). This ranked 2nd out of 490 centers between 1987 – 2021. Would bring a combination of nastiness & athleticism to the line.

But again it all depends on who is available. I would even consider packaging our 2nd round pick along with a 2nd 4th round pick to move up and grab Humphrey or Dickerson.

“Target” based on what KC said about position depth in this draft...If there I think TE Freiermuth. If not C Creed or Meinerz.

Samuel could change that if he falls but doubt that happens.

This is a guy I like, and he ran his 40 even faster than 4.95. Best overall workout I ever saw from a center. At the senior bowl, he was 1 or 2 of the best blocking OL men there. Very colorful personality, this guy combines the backwood Paul Bunyon story of being country / lumberjack strong, with the mentality of I'm going to know you over and there is noting you can do to prevent it. Then he does it.

Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

Can't wait. Just the thought of a real power center has me jacked.

I don't think we need to move up, a good center will still be available to us at #55 if we choose to go in that direction.

Our scouts have sniffed up on Meinerz; He probably is the pick.

Adrian Klemm worked Meinerz out at his Pro Day, I wouldn't be surprised if he's our pick if still available at #55.

I'd bet any of the three Centers if sitting at #55 would be taken in this order of preference Meinerz, Humphrey and Dickinson
