but then you're not intelligent enough to understand that and you didn't have an answer for it so you go right to your childish insults.
    Lol.... nice try.
You quoted me and now are acting like you were referring to a different post.
    I own you.
How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?

I love when you resort to your childish insults, means that once again you have lost another argument to me.

you'd think you would be used to it by now Squidkid.

Layne took a plea deal which dropped the felony charge.

Pled guilty to two lesser charges

I bet you he is the most motivated hardest working player on the team going forward

agrees to perform 32 hours of community service, give up his gun, pay a $500 fine and serve six months of probation.

I hope this is what makes the light go on for him, sometimes people need to hit bottom before they can go up again.

I've been one of Layne's biggest critics but reportedly he had a modestly improved TC and preseason. When the Steelers drafted him they knew he was going to be a multi-year project due to lack of CB experience. It got me thinking, could Layne be following the path of Edmunds or even Dupree?? The Steelers patience was rewarded by both guys. Edmunds has developed into a better than average safety. Dupree... well you know his story.

Could Layne emerge as Haden's replacement after this season? If he is still not ready do you give Haden a one year deal to allow another year for Layne? He's still on a cheap rookie deal for at least another season so the downside is simply a roster spot.

Hopefully this is a time where it pays to be patient.

I thought he would get cut this season, but many accounts had him playing well at the end of camp.

We could certainly use some guys working out in the secondary.

I have always taken a wait and see approach to Layne. I was not disappointed in either his rookie or second year because we knew from the start that this was the target year. He is more similar in story to Ike. He entered college as a wideout and was only converted in his Freshman year. Ike went to college as a running back. Unfortunately he is also similar to Cortez Allen who didn't even play until his senior year in HS.

So this is the year that I've given him until to show us something. No more transition period. Time to watch with expectations and see what he can do.

He needs to get a WHOLE LOT BETTER to replace Haden. Gets turned around too much and is really "grabby"

IMO he may be a better Safety than CB

Yea, he's still a work in progress but directionally going the right way. And I'm not saying his play will equal Haden, just that he could be another piece on the outside once Haden is gone. After so many failures picking CBs you would think based on sheer odds that they end of hitting on one or two.

He's a little better but still 4th or 5th cornerback being beaten by 2nd and third stringers. # Poor 3rd round pick. On a team with prospects who can play he would be cut.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

Layne is not a good CB.

I hope we never need him to actually play.
