And while I do think he's been over rated recently, I think many of us on here are old enough to remember how bad things were before he made his way to Pittsburgh. Sadly, seems like we had a lot of those same issues (like massive penetration on running plays) this year too.
If this turns out to be true, I guess now the question is whether or not they were serious about hanging it up together.
He was a good one, but not great in my opinion. In my lifetime, I've seen some great Steelers centers. And the Steelers held on to him way past his prime:
But wish him the best in the second half of his life.
Not sure how great of a center he was but him and Ben had a great relationship. That’s super important and definitely helped the offense. I’d rather have the qb and oline like each other than the qb and wr group.
Lucky for us he is making this decision. Doubt Tomlin would have the balls to cut him.
Kudos to him for his on field and locker room leadership.
How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?
