I understand being frustrated but it’s a business. I’m sure Hines, Troy and other vets didn’t appreciate the way we moved onto younger players while they were still on the roster.
    A few key points.

1.) JH didn't say he was angry over not playing as much as he was pissed because MT lied to him all that pre- and regular season, saying he has special plans for using him and it never happened. And, to be perfectly honest, the little I saw of him play with NE, it looked like he SHOULD have been playing for the Steelers instead of rotting on the Bench. But again, JH said MT lied to him all along that season, and I for one, believe him.

2.) JH has since said to not get this twisted; he said he was never paid or encouraged to hurt people. This was a matter of the team and fans wanting to pitch in for a bogus fine, on a play that wasn't even flagged during the game. He said this absolutely was not a "bounty" situation.

3.) If anyone has an issue with this, then you need to have an issue with the team, not MT. Where do you think that $ came from in that envelope? MT's pocket? No way. That came from the Rooney's stack, MT didn't pay that out of his wallet.

      1) Regardless of what Tomlin said.. things change. Players are brought in all the time and told they are going to have a role and then things change. JH didn’t really show much in NE though. He said he would’ve came back if they offered him another contract.. but they didn’t. i wonder why?

      2) true. but the point is it gives people something to talk about and implies we were rewarding a bad hit.

      3) people have an issue with Tomlin because JH said his name. People aren’t going to use common sense and I think JH knew what he was doing by using Tomlin’s name.

There’s no evidence to support what was said either way. You can’t act on something without proof.

And here’s something that hasn’t been said if it were true..

The NFL ( in my lifetime) has not been a bounty system for defensive hits. But a reward system. There’s a difference.

If a defensive player put a legit hit on an offensive player that put him out, there was always a little something extra left in his locker room. That’s the way the entire NFL was doing it. The defense’s job is to intimidate by pain. We have a League that is so sissified that if a defensive players goes on ESPN and says I’m going to hit you hard when you catch the ball going across the middle, that fans have been brain washed to consider him a “ dirty player”.

That is the defenses job. Period. To intimidate and make you not want to perform by intimidating you with pain.

I said all that to say that if Tomlin did do that , I have no problem with that .

          1. Because a ton of those hits Harrison did in that period were not illegal hits. Goodall was going after Harrison, Clark and our team hard back then and making us his whipping boys.

          2. The game was always played by EVERYONE with a reward ( not bounty) system for game changing ( legal ) hits.

why would anyone slander Tomlin like that (besides you, of course) when it hasn't even been established to be a fact?

It’s no secret Harrison is not a Tomlin fan. He’ll say anything that puts Tomlin in a bad light.

exactly, yet some posters on this board are so blinded by their hatred for Tomlin they refuse to see that.

                    Harrison clearly carries a grudge.

Harrison can just fade away into ignominy. Who cares about anything he says. He is a has been. Lets focus on people who matter and actually are in the NFL

Truth. Why does any Steelers fan care about negative comments a former player says...especially someone like Harrison who left under a cloud

Because I can guarantee if any other coach in the league was rumored to have done this, you guys would be calling him all sorts of stuff. Blaming them for cheating etc etc. You guys wouldn't need any facts. You guys would be 10 times as bad if it was bellichek, the Ravens or browns.
How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?

Every fan of every team does that. It's telling that you have to explain it to a non-fan
