Thus was born “Captain Lemming” for this forum.
the same people who criticize Tomlin here would have fired Cowher before he had his chance to finally win a Super Bowl...

I was never a Cowher basher. So if I were back then, I'd have been defending Cowher.

Okay..so you think he's fast Willie. We all loved Fast Willie.
It's dully noted that you think he's fast Willie. We'll see and hope your right.

You are correct. This guy is a player. The Steelers know what they are doing.

              Yep.

Like you, I was defending BC for the same reasons I defend MT (although maybe not as strongly as you did back then since I never got a cool nick name ).

Consistent success in the NFL is really hard to do and almost no coaches do it.

You don't fire guys that win consistently, even if they don't win the SB. BC would have still been an excellent coach even if he didn't win a SB on a trick play after making it based on a freak shoe string tackle. And Tomlin would still be a great coach even if he didn't win a SB because of a freak interception return and a perfectly threaded late game TD

And if you want to compare playoff disappointments, BC dominates MT in missed playoff opportunities. But, it's really hard to win single elimination tournaments in pro-sports because chance plays a significant role and critical injuries have huge impacts.

                  ^^^100000%^^^^

It doesn't take a lot to look around the league at teams constantly looking for a winning coach.

He's exactly the same as Cowher, so if that's your opinion of BC I think that makes logical sense.

All of the above. Wouldn't it be great to smash Brady in the Super Bowl? I think if we did that, that would be the cherry on top for ALL of Steeler nation. Soooo satisfying.

Knock Hairbag and the Rats out of the playoffs, beat Belichick and the *'s in the AFCC, and smash Brady in the Super Bowl. That would be just perfect.

BC has bigger postseason disappointments because he got them to a higher % of playoffs and deeper in the playoffs more consistently, so he was a victim of his own success. How many AFCC games has Tomlin made? Now how many has he made with his own players? Cowher made conference championships more.

That would be immensely gratifying. But, man, knocking off Balt. will be a colossal challenge, especially after the meritorious draft they just had. They were already a 13-3 team last season, but now have Queen (the new Ray Lewis) , Dobbins (2000 yard rusher in one college season), Madubuike (3rd best DT in draft, could end up being the best of the lot, a beast of a space eater), and Devin Duvernay (a blazing playmaker who Jackson can dump off passes to who can just kill you). It doesn't seem fair that a team already so good got this many great players.

Defensively, they look to be loaded. Even with the massive regression of Jackson, (which I forsee) If the defense is holding offenses down, all it will take is a TD and a few field goals to win games. Like Tebow did back in that magical year with the Broncos when they eliminated us in the playoffs.

I don't think their offense will turn to crap; they were the #1 rushing team (with Jackson adding a lot of those yards) and now have Dobbins and Duvernay and still have Jackson in his prime, meaning he can still take off and tear you a new @ hole). And they just upgraded their O line. Good God.
