Ben was Ben-like in his first year, and he's been Hall of Fame since that day. Who the **** is Mahomes?

He has had very little support in the run game and shaky at best recievers. Yes we are winning with the defense but Mason is doing great. He needs much better pocket awareness and get rid of the ball on time. Stop comparing to Ben.
Stop making sense.. lol. Nice to see a few rational thoughts popping up on here

Truth. Nice that you live in the real world unlike some of the other ridiculous posts from others

Bad night for the Tomlin-haters. He scraped together a win with a backup QB, and third string RBs.

That coach all you Tomlin-haters love on the Rams side is a goofball. Total zero. Did you guys watch him? He can't figure out pigeons.

I thought the same things watching the game. the haters want a "genius" like McVey although they have no idea who that is

Check the records of the recent batch of first and second year head coaches. We have better

                This deserves another thread.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

                TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

                  Boom......

Yeah, a certain poster had nothing but praise for McVey.

Thankfully I sat Kupp this week in my real fantasy. Like I predicted. Shut out Kupp and the Rams struggle, he’s Goff’s safety valve.

and the Rams offense looked terrible vs our defense for most of the game. 3 points on offense?

we beat the NFC representative in the Super Bowl from last year. We held their offense to 3 measly points. We had 4 turnovers. Our offense couldn't run the ball - yet managed to score a TD and had an impressive 8 minute drive to add another 3 forcing the Rams to need a TD to win the game. The Defense which has been bad for about a decade had to make two last minute stops in the final 3 minutes of the game - and were successful.

Having said all that, I don't know how anyone finds bad things to say about today. I'm a known Tomlin critic - but damn, we're 5-4 and truth be told, two ridiculous turnovers away from being 7-2. I like to think my criticism of Tomlin is based solely on the performance of his teams. The performance of his team today deserves nothing but compliments in my opinion.

I think we split with the Browns.

They aren't good, but I think they have a few good games in them.

Playing us always brings out the best in them.

And I don't think we get 3+ turnovers and a TD from the D every week going forward...but who knows.

I think a direct comparison like that is hard.

The league has changed a lot since Ben was a rookie.

Maybe also worth comparing to current first year starting QBs?

I want to like MR. But I get too emotionally invested in our O ****ting the bed. Hard for me to make an objective call on him.

sure it is.. i was just presenting the first year numbers for Ben and MR.. to show how foolish it is to write MR off after 7 games

I watched every second of every game in 2004 and IMO, Rudolph compares favorably to Ben. The Steelers in 2004 had a running game and a better all-around supporting cast. It is indeed foolish to write off MR after seven games. Get Conner and Snell healthy again and see what happens.

That's where Im at. I think this team has a chance to make a run... and I (or anyone else making that comment a few weeks ago) would have been laughed off of this forum by saying that.

Having Bettis, Plaxico Burress and Hines Ward certainly made Ben’s life a lot easier compared to what MR has for offensive weapons right now.
Obviously the standard is the standard.
