That’s not going work either. Your taking a stance that your right and everyone else not agreeing with you is wrong. What you think is hyper balling or intellectual dishonesty are really truths to others that don’t agree with you. Segregation is the best way to cut back hostilities

Because what you say I consider intellectual dishonesty and hyper balling. See? So there’s always going to be friction. So for everybody to receive the respect they think they deserve , segregation works.Comment

Thanks for you input.Originally posted by NotleadpoisonedI’ve always been more of a lurker than a poster on here but if I had a gripe it would be that this forum is way too cliquey. There’s like 10 regulars who post and if you’re not part of that group chances are you have little chance to get a reply. Not a great formula for attracting new members IMHO.Comment

What if your not name calling and someone else is? Your not suppose to go to a mod?Comment

I think if we segregate things , there would be a lot less friction. I’m game for it if the Tomlin lovers are.Comment

Anybody read / listen to Jordan Peterson?
Maybe we all try the following:
- Be precise in your speech
- Tell the truth – or, at least, don’t lie
- Assume that the person you are listening to might know something you don’t
Or maybe:
- Pursue what is meaningful (not what is expedient)
But that probably means we should all stop posting

I'm agree 100%. And the fact that this post is now in to it's 9th page of "comments" is further proof.Originally posted by NotleadpoisonedI’ve always been more of a lurker than a poster on here but if I had a gripe it would be that this forum is way too cliquey. Agreed on the stop posting thing.Anybody read / listen to Jordan Peterson?

No set of rules or standards is going to work.
Human nature won't let it.How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?Comment

This is not the case for everything. There is such a thing as objective truth. That’s not going work either. Your taking a stance that your right and everyone else not agreeing with you is wrong. What you think is hyper balling or intellectual dishonesty are really truths to others that don’t agree with you. Segregation is the best way to cut back hostilities
For example.
When Poster A says: Poster B said X.
And Poster B shows the post in question that proves that: Poster B actually said Y.
Now it's not about opinion. It's about facts.
It no longer matters if Poster A feels like something different was said. They were demonstrably wrong.
The honest thing to do at that point is to acknowledge it, and the polite thing is to apologize.
How does it go? "Facts don't care about your feelings"?Last edited by Northern_Blitz; 10-29-2019, 10:22 AM.Comment

We could debate that both ways....
But Im not interested in that. I’m interested in people saying what they want without being called names and hostilities arising. That’s what I’m trying to address.Comment

We seem to keep arguing about the same few issues over and over again.
Maybe JuJu's advice is the best:

FWIW, I'm sure I'm being guilty of being both the idiot and the person arguing with the idiot (probably both at the same time when I'm being super productive).Comment

The problem is even after proving someone lied, that person then changes the narrative. This is not the case for everything. There is such a thing as objective truth.
