It's a strawman because you replace the actual argument with a simple obviously false argument.

I'll retract my statement if you find one post of someone arguing that "no dependable dbs are drafted after the first 12 picks in the first round."

If you don't like getting called out for making strawmen, argue against points people actually make.

      Wow, a retraction....
      Your fallback strawman excuse.

How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?

That attitude (and I'm including myself) is a big part of the arguing.
Got to respectfully disagree with you. Some are here to be fans of themselves, not the team

On the mark. The problem is that too many turn this into an ego contest and don't discuss, they attack other posters.

We have some posters who unfortunately are trying to vicariously live a dream life of being a professional football analyst and forget this is for fun to engage with other fans of the Steelers not to engage in repeated virtual d!ck measuing contests

Nothing anyone says here will have any impact on what the organization or team actually does

Got an idea that will help ( not cure) some hostilities...

What if Tomlin loving threads have a “ TL” in front of the thread header. That way , you know that thread is just a praising thread for Tomlin and us non-Tomlin lovers don’t need to go in there?

Then, Non-Tomlin loving threads have a
“NTL” in front of the thread header which signifies people who are not here to praise him and that way Tomlin lovers don’t need to go in that thread?

Anything about players can be neutral threads but posters just need to stay specific to the thread header.

Just trying to come up with some type of compromise that works for all.

I think this will fail for the same reasons the ignore feature doesn't seem to work.

I also don't think we have any TL threads. Just fire Tomlin, and Tomlin sucks, and ball washers, and janitors etc.

I think working on behavior (i.e. Try to be honest and limit hyperbole) is a better approach than segregation

Sorry, but that seems silly. You can tell within 3 seconds of reading a thread or a post if it contains Tomlin content you don't agree with. The problem is not marking/identifying threads. The problem is people overreacting to content. There are people who want to argue/overreact no matter what tools are in place.

More people need to learn to let things go and just agree to disagree.

I agree. There is no need for TL threads the facts speak for themselves as he is recognized as one of the best coaches in the NFL

However, we should probably set up a separate message board for the haters so they can live in their alternative universe without the facts and laws of physics interfering with their hatred

I think Shawn’s post works the best.

If you sling mud, don’t run to the mods or site owner when you get dirty.

Seems like this is the only option that has a chance of working.
