Good Ben > Mason >= Duck

    Mason >=Duck > Bad Ben
I agree. One thing is for sure, Duck will be the hottest story in the NFL if he’s able to pull out a win Sunday night.

Is it "confidence and energy" or more of a what the hell I never expected to be here attitude. Confidence is good but over confidence is dangerous.

I never though having a cerebral QB was bad

Hard to say at this point. But it’s something.

It’s definitely good. Hopefully it comes along with all the other necessary good things.

This is kind of how I look at it too.

I guess we'll get to see if his ability matches his confidence this week...although Mason was apparently practicing yesterday?

It's all still up in the air on Mason/Duck..it's yet to be determined. But we can get a box of popcorn and watch how it plays. I'm hopeful one of them pans out.

                Mason is practicing.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he plays. He knows if Hodges gets a win it could spell doom for his future.

Since the rest of the season probably doesn't really matter, I hope they rest Mason this week. Then he also gets the bye with no contact.

Seems like a good idea to limit further potential brain damage.

In terms of who feels the most comfortable slinging the ball around, look at the numbers between the three QBs.

                    Over their last three years...

                    Ben 39 A/G, 293 Y/G, 2 TDs/G
Rudolph 35 A/G, 327 Y/G, 2.2 TDs/G in college, then a year on the bench in the NFL
                    Duck 46 A/G, 353 Y/G, 2.8 TDs/G in college

While we know that Hodges played against lower competition, it probably works to his benefit right now because he is too young and naive to understand that just dropping back and slinging it is not so easy. I think that Mason has been a little too tentative so far and we could use someone who will toss it around more.

                      AFC is down this year.

Until we are mathematically eliminated I don’t think the season is over.

We have been in every game besides the opener. Until we are out. I’m in.

I'm thinking it's a lot easier to be the backup than it is to be 'the man'. The grind over the long haul, defensive adjustment to your game, usually result in worse play over time. A backup only has to survive a few games before he returns to the safety of the bench.

In my view we have NEVER HAD ONE as a starter.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

                          TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

Kids got that Bubby swag....I kind of think that is what he'd be as a starter.
