Not prepared. How is tht even remotely acceptable? What makes matters worse is that is hardly the first time.
How could they not be prepared? They had the entire off-season.
It's not like they didnt have months to get prepared. Isn't preparation one of the key elements of coaching? Lol.Tomlin: Let's unleash hell and "mop the floor" with the competition.Comment

booted out of Indy?Go back and take a closer look SoD; scoring by the offense was in continual decline at the end with Arians. Defenses figured him out and the QB was being killed sitting in the pocket for the long developing pass routes. It's also what got him booted out of Indy. Watch what happens to Winston in TB this season.
he won coach of the year on an interim basis.
he went to coach arizona when pagano came back from taking time off to deal with his leukemiaComment

I said in the preseason that I think we'll probably be ~ 500 going into the bye.
Still think that's true.
We should be worse than last year on O, and the D is young but they'll hopefully get better as the season progresses. I also expect we'll be better at kicking FGs because it's hard to be worse.Last edited by Northern_Blitz; 09-12-2019, 11:50 AM.Comment

How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?Comment

No. I think Munchak doesn't want to be a head coach again after the first time. Some guys are just better position coaches / coordinators.
I think he would have made the same move to be with family (although that option may not have been available in your hypothetical timeline).Comment

The thing is that only one side of this debate does research (the side arguing for the status quo). And that work has generally shown that the Steelers have met or exceeded reasonable expectations under Tomlin, even over his worst span of time (conviently used by those who don't like him).
I think in successful organizations, the side of an argument that wants a dramatic change should be the one that has to demonstrate that the change is better than the status quo. And given the Steelers success under Tomlin, I think it's unlikely that you'd be able to make the that case outside of hiring BB (which I would obviously do in a second).Comment
