I get back to Pittsburgh at least once a year, sometime more often. And I always have a great time. I love the people, the culture, the memories. But I'm realistic in knowing I'm biased being from there. And I also know after a couple days, the city's lack of sun is beyond depressing. I never noticed as a kid or young adult in the city. It was just my life back then. But now that I experience sunny days 99.9% of the time, I now notice a difference any time I visit home.
I'm always excited to go back, but I don't think I've been in Pittsburgh in 10 years on a sunny day. It's always overcast.
And I won't even go as far as to say AB is a d!ck. I get it. He wanted paid and he got paid. Good for him and sucks for us. Oh well. But the point is there's a collective set of issues and questions hovering around Pittsburgh. Can you hold Rooney/Colbert at their word? Ben seems like a PITA to play with given all that's been said about him. Tomlin has lost his luster. And it doesn't feel like this team is positioned to win. They haven't even won that many playoff games.
If I'm a FA, I want to be part of something special and in a winning program. NE feels like a solid choice. Teams like KC, St Louis, NO, etc. feel like good landing spots. But I don't feel like Pittsburgh is 1 player away from a SuperBowl. And it seems like they lost 2 of their most talented players in the last year. It's a bit of disarray and I don't think I'd be buying any story someone in Pittsburgh was trying to sell me.
