If you are an offensive guy you go b/c they have a HOF QB, one of the best o-lines in football, and a better than average RB duo. They can score points and move the ball.

On D, you go because there's a need for starters in multiple places. Get some bank and a ton of PT.

Why not go? 4 out of the last 5 years the team has been a double digit winning team. They are going to be in the mix. Pittsburgh didn't become some NFL wasteland b/c Brown is a d!ck.
I get back to Pittsburgh at least once a year, sometime more often. And I always have a great time. I love the people, the culture, the memories. But I'm realistic in knowing I'm biased being from there. And I also know after a couple days, the city's lack of sun is beyond depressing. I never noticed as a kid or young adult in the city. It was just my life back then. But now that I experience sunny days 99.9% of the time, I now notice a difference any time I visit home.

I'm always excited to go back, but I don't think I've been in Pittsburgh in 10 years on a sunny day. It's always overcast.

And I won't even go as far as to say AB is a d!ck. I get it. He wanted paid and he got paid. Good for him and sucks for us. Oh well. But the point is there's a collective set of issues and questions hovering around Pittsburgh. Can you hold Rooney/Colbert at their word? Ben seems like a PITA to play with given all that's been said about him. Tomlin has lost his luster. And it doesn't feel like this team is positioned to win. They haven't even won that many playoff games.

If I'm a FA, I want to be part of something special and in a winning program. NE feels like a solid choice. Teams like KC, St Louis, NO, etc. feel like good landing spots. But I don't feel like Pittsburgh is 1 player away from a SuperBowl. And it seems like they lost 2 of their most talented players in the last year. It's a bit of disarray and I don't think I'd be buying any story someone in Pittsburgh was trying to sell me.

You should go further than calling AB a d!ck. He's a me-first, piece of trash in my opinion. In a team sport, AB did everything possible to put himself ahead of the team. He's a lying, me-first, furniture-throwing child. I wish him nothing but the worst. His behavior is the EXACT opposite of what you try to instill in your children growing up with sports.

Ben seems like an angel to play with compared to AB.

You can't hold A N Y owner or GM at the word they put out to the public. They simply aren't saying to the public, what they really think and say internally.

Maybe Tomlin has lost his luster. Maybe he hasn't. Last year was full of crap that would have been out of the control of most coaches.

Did you feel like the Steelers were in position to win in 2004 after the abysmal 6-10 season we had with Cowher the year prior? Did you feel like the Steelers were in position to go to the Super Bowl in 2010 after the 9-7 record of 2009?

Most FA's don't feel like you. They could care less about anything special. AB is shining example. What's so special about the Raiders? NOTHING Except money.

That's why everyone want to be a free agent to sign with the Redskins. That's where players go for their one last big payday.

The players that want to be part of something special are already on the team and are eventually extended. It's rare to bring in a free agent that sees being part of something special as their primary incentive.

If this is really true then I understand why PIT rarely plays in the FA market. Why pick up players that are more interested in money than being part of a winning team and organization. The Steelers have found out what the money first guys are all about... and two of them are now gone.
