The Steelers have missed with a ton of picks, but this one is really Monday morning quarterbacking. Nobody really saw Leonard coming, and I don't remember him being projected as a first round pick in any mocks.

what's the saying? even a broken clock is right twice a day. getting 4 out of 11 (going back and including worldis and hood) in the top 2 rounds isn't exactly doing a great job.Really?
They didn't get Tuitt right? Didn't get Shazier right?
Didn't get Hargrave right? Didn't get Watt right?
It's not like they've been shut out. (Although they might consider purging their secondary scouting department since they've been struggling to find starters for a while now.)
hargrave? he's nothing more then an average player. what's so "right" about him?
and if you want to include 3rd and 4th rounders it gets even worse. sure, you're not expecting those guys to be stars but some should become useful. the offense has had some major contributions from those and later rounds
curtis brown
cortez allen
sean spence
ta'amu
shamark thomas
doran grant
and might be too early to tell with cam sutton but he certainly hasn't distinguished himselfComment

We missed on Leonard and Harold Landry. Either one would have served us well.Comment

If we were unable to land Leighton Vander Esch in round 1, I wanted to take Darius Leonard in round 2.
But, you are right....I never heard a peep about Leonard being considered in the first round by anyone.Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.Comment

I never heard anything about Leonard in the first round; but there was chatter about Landry being taken in the first round.Comment

I agree and it's either a shut down corner or a wild man safety in the likes of Troy. Damn I miss the good old days.Trolls are people too.Comment

An order of Shutdown corner here to garcon. I think we had good pressure (3.2 sacks per game) on opposing QB's. But our secondary's uninspired play in the turnover category, leads me to believe our need for a true shutdown corner is a high demand. I know a lot people want us to play more man coverage. But Philly's D is pretty serviceable and they play a lot of zone. We just don't have the proper personnel in our secondary. When I see freaks like Derwin James and look at all of the"projects" we've drafted over recent years, makes me just shake my head.Comment

Your dreaming; Your absolutely wrong on this. And you continue to pipe dream and make excuses for a management that has failed over an 8 year period.
3 playoff wins in the last 8 years.Comment

Earl Thomas is an interesting option to upgrade the secondary... likely done in Seattle. Not sure what the cap hit would be.Comment

Name the active coaches outside of Belichick who have a better record. You keep saying that like it is bad.
The guy you want to hire (and you have no idea who it is) is either a rookie HC who has zero preseason wins, zero regular season wins, zero postseason appearances and zero playoff wins
or a recycled HC who doesn't have a record that is anywhere near as good as Tomlin's.Comment
