It's not a matter of Tomlin deciding to "Man up", there are things like the salary cap and return value that go into making such a decision. It's not peewee football there are millions of dollars invested and they won't just be thrown away because a coach doesn't like a guys attitude and wants him gone. I'm sure Tomlin has had the discussion with Rooney already, it's now a matter of if it makes sense for the organization to move a superstar like AB.

Ive taken all of that into account... and so have the Steelers... and its no secret they are entertaining offers, and will move him when the opportunity presents itself. The fact that he's a "Superstar" should not be factored into this decision... He's a "Quitter" first and foremost... and should be dealt with accordingly.

His production will be replaced (probably spread out to multiple receivers, TEs, etc) and we will be a better offense because of it. We saw glimpses of it this year when we spread the ball around.

I think the team will want to keep him because of the cap hit.

But I agree that AB can force his way out by continuing to be an ass.
Then the league has a much bigger problem to deal with. How do you keep players from repeating this behavior to get what they want?
This could be on the docket in the next CBA. There needs to be a non-performance penalty against the contract.

Im not disagreeing, im sure the Steelers already know what they are going to do. My point to him was its not on Tomlins shoulders to get rid of AB. It does matter that he is a superstar because there is a significant dollar figure attached to that.

Tomlin will most likely lose the team if AB is allowed to return; there is at least a 5 years history of him being an ass clown that Tomlin has tolerated. The welfare & performance of the team going forward, supersedes cap hits and investments because winning games supersedes all. And you can't win games if the players on the team feel they can and will do anything they want with no major repercussions.

But I see where your coming from wizard.

                  Why do you think that?

My guess is that most players want him back because he helps them win in Sundays.

Tomlin doesn't lose the team if AB comes back, what would that say about the rest of our team. I can hear the guys in the locker room now, "Oh my god AB skipped a walk through and he is allowed back on the team, how will I ever continue my career as a Steeler!!???"

No he has also been working his way from a 6th round draft pick to one the best receivers in the league, best receiver in franchise history, and a sure fire hall of famer. I could care less if he is a diva, he is a competitor and excels at his job game after game, lets not forget either that he was returning punts for us while he was one of the top receivers in the league. That is a guy who is willing to do what the team needs in order to win. If that guy is a problem for our locker room than maybe our locker room is the problem, give me a team of Antonio Browns.

Wizard.. stop. Did you not see the report of all his diva-tude to go along with him becoming a great wide reciever? We are looking at the situation in its totality.

Ball licking AB isn’t the answer anymore by Tomlin. Again, go see the AB/ Harrison feed while Tomlin was having his press conference.

You would also like a team full of TO’s probably too.

Exactly. This is the same guy "Wizard" that just mentioned "Holding players accountable" in another thread. Can't have it both ways bud. lol

He was held accountable, he skipped a walk through and got benched. The fact that he is a diva is not a problem that I feel he needs to suffer any discipline for. The guy goes out there on the field and does what he gets paid to do, he is not getting paid to love everyone in the locker room. I'm sorry but you put up with attitude from a guy who just had 104 catches 1297 yards and 15 tds, that is guy you sit down with and try and work out issues with. You don't chase your best offensive weapon out of town because you don't like who he is, that is not accountability and it is not leadership.

No not stopping....I don't care about attitude, I care about people who do their job and do it well. You are not looking at the situation in it's totality, you are focused on one aspect of AB's character, using that to define him and ignoring all the positives that AB brings to the team. Go pull up AB's stats for the past 9 years and all of the clutch catches and punt returns he made for this team and then ask yourself if he is bad for this team.
