    Northern....
We rolled into the number 1 team in the NFL's house last evening... in a hostile environment... and darned near won the game.
It speaks volumes (given the talent on this team) that we likely will be missing the playoffs. Yes, some of our problems have been related to "Execution". We can't minimize the impact of coaching at critical points though (time management, play calling). And there's something to be said about the number of penalties (due to an obvious lack of discipline... having to do with coaching). When it comes to playing top level competition... I believe Tomlin and his staff put us at a disadvantage more times than not. Last night was one of those games.

I dont mind the fake punt call, because the Saints needed a TD. The refs were awful those PI penalties changed the game, almost all of there points came off of a drive that was continued by PI. Then throw in the 2 fumbles it was tough to overcome, blaming the loss on Tomlin is ridiculous, the ball just hasnt bounced well for us this year, such is life in the NFL.

Exactly. This would be a non issue if the team didn't blow it against the Raiders, the worst team in football! Or the Broncos or choke against the Chargers.

Time to move on from the janitor.

BTW... Tomlin should have thrown his challenge flag to get the refs attention on that tipped pass. It was under 2 minutes so he should have done everything possible to get the refs attention to review that play. Instead, they didn't review it and it was a PI call on Haden. If I recall, this was on the last drive and possibly even 4th down.

Instead, Tomlin stood there like a deer in headlights again. Oh, that's right, he doesn't have a staffer upstairs reviewing plays that can relay info down to him. That would have been helpful at an opposing stadium where they certainly wouldn't replay that on the jumbo Tron.

How dumb and/or arrogant is he?

Sure was a 4th down...and yea, I saw the deer in the headlights look also. Tomlin's best coaching days are behind him. The NFL is a "What have you done for me lately" type of league... and Tomlin hasn't done much. Imagine if Cowher would've had Big Ben for his entire career?

If Cowher was the coach with Ben, he wouldn't been as good because it would've been turtle ball and play not to lose.

Ben may not have had the passing stats... but we would likely have won more SBs..

Tell me Ben wouldn't have "Killed" to have those defenses of the 90s and early 2000s.

The more I think about that fake punt, the less of a problem I have with it. Tomlin was right, his D wasn't going to stop them. His plan actually worked perfectly, except for JuJu's fumble. Our D should have actually let them score earlier.

Dude get real, Cowher had the most talented team of his era. Got to 4AFCCG at home, while favored in all and still lost..... And was so convinced in his style of coaching that he never wanted Ben instead wanted a fat Guard. Bill had more talent than any team he faced. Hell you want to say Tomlin can't beat BB, COWHER lost twice too him in the AFCCG AND one was Brady being about an 8 game or so starter.

Cowher created an intimidating defense in his tenure, but i grew tired of his losing the big games.
What has Tomlin created in his tenure here?
I'm growing tired of Tomlin now also.
                        Just my opinion.

I'm all for starting over, but let's not act like Cowher was this great Coach and so much better. I think he was good who always played not too loose.
And I also think Tomlin is good but Freelance it to much.

It also easy to be intimidating back then because of the rules.

One last thing. Tomlin is a reason for the rule change, believe it or not.

Like i said, i loved Cowher at first because of our defenses.
He built a great defense but was happy when he retired.
Perhaps we get a new DC and we get the ship righted before Ben retires.
