New England also gave up a 4th round pick this year to the Rams as well in this most recent trade.

    So actually,

    New England gave up:
    2017 round 1
    2017 round 3
    2018 round 4

    New England got back:
    2018 round 1
    2017 round 4
    2018 round 6

for 1 year of Brandin Cooks.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

      Thanks for catching that!

It doesn't look as good as I thought when you tally up the actual info.

seems to me they got a year of brandon cooks basically for free and got 1000 yards out of him and then cut him loose without paying him big money

seems like a smart play to me

helped get them to a SB and may have won it if he doesn't get a concussion early in the game.

Yep. I heard a lot of the "talking heads" talking about how dumb it was for Belichick to trade Cooks already, but you laid it out as the "smart move" it was -- *s got his services for a year for low $$$$, and now, actually get a higher draft pick than the one they traded away to acquire him in the first place!

well, they still have to replace his production.

At WR, they have Julian Edelman, Malcolm Mitchell, Chris Hogan, Kenny Britt, Philip Dorsett and Cordarelle Patterson. They might choose to add a speedster in the draft. Sounds as though Gronk is coming back at TE.

That group of receivers, with Brady throwing them the ball? I don't think they'll have much trouble replacing Cooks' production.

                  I forgot about Britt.

                  Can he stretch the field?

I loved Patterson at UT but dude is a terrible route runner

                    they just signed jordan Matthews

I'm pretty sure they will survive without cooks

I may be in a minority but I think that Chris Hogan can be a top 15 wide receiver in this league if he’s the #1 wide receiver for the pats.
