I read that too. Could is this be related to pittpete's post that AV restructured.

There are a few other FA RB out there still. ( A. MORRIS, D. MURRY) Another thing, if the Browns take Barkley, what do they do with Hyde and Duke?

Would be a decent pick up. That's what I think we will see now. Vet min qualifiers with discount & displacement eats little up on cap. RB, DT, OL, & vet WR. Sometimes you can get a steal on someone coming off poor season or bad team who can come in here & contribute.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

        TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

They sure don't!! They'd rather slit their wrist then do something like that.

Is Blue an upgrade over Toussaint?

Both have been in the league for 4 years.

            Blue has started 14 games.
            Toussaint has started 0 games.

            Blue is 6'2" 225 lbs.
            Touissaint is 5'9" 204 lbs.

Blue has run the ball 523 times for 1908 yards and 6 TD's.
Toussaint has run the ball 44 times for 137 yards and no TD's.

Blue has caught 49 passes for 316 more yards and 2 more TD's.
Toussaint has caught 8 passes for 69 more yards and still no TD's.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Also, if we sign him, we get to say "You're my boy, Blue!" more often. Always a plus.

Besides, "Blue" starts with a "B", thus allowing us to keep the "Killer B's" thing going...

Steelers never seem to have had a good back up running back. Willie Parker and Jerome Bettis duo was the exception. I never could understand their fascination with Toussaint and there used to be a guy named Justin "somebody" they carried on the practice squad, forever...

Le'Veon Bell's backups recently have been guys like James Conner and DeAngelo Williams. Fitz Toussaint never started the season higher than a 3rd string RB (4th if you consider FB Rosie Nix to be a RB).

is this Toussaint's replacement or does this mean Conner isn't going to be ready by the start of the season?

I still have some hope for Conner. Yeah he was hurt his first year but so was Bell. But the Bell boys are quick to dismiss when Bell is always hurt but quick to bring up how Conner hurt himself his first year.

Well, Bell has bounced back from his injuries. I don’t think any of us were defending Bell like crazy while he was injured.

With Conner it’s a concern because he tore his ACL at Pitt and then they found cancer and then he gets injured again in his first year. I defended Conner before we picked him and said injury shouldn’t be a concern, yet here we are.

The ontjer concern is Conner isn’t elusive like Bell. He is a straight line runner/bruiser.

Im hoping he bounces back and has a great year. He’s a nice compliment to Bell. Kind of sucks because his blocking needs work and this injury pushes his development back a bit.
