Good old SSHEETS33 hasn't been here since 4-29-2018 but his thread lives on.
Long live the King!Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!
I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.Comment

I think that Ben was always that leader with his Olinemen. What he has added over the last few years is include the skill players. JuJu returns, cites Ben and Pittsburgh being home as the main reasons. Ebron has spoken of his affection towards Ben. He also seems to be treating the youngsters as little brothers.Comment

Other coaches held them accountable. How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?Comment

He’s still worth 15+ a year.
Those other coaches don’t know how to utilize him…..How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?Comment

This is an argument for Tomlin's handling of them, not against them.
For better or worse, this is what HCs have to do with star players. Find ways to get them to work in the system when the star players are far more valuable to the team than the HC. My wife used to work in management for a Fortune 50 company. The role she disliked most was what they called an "influencing" role. Something like environmental control of a production facility. In that role, the manager has to get people from other departments to do stuff for her without having any real control over the scope of work for that employee.
Would the team really had been better off if he benched AB or Bell in their prime and they then demanded a trade mid-season?
It's not the 50s anymore. Coaches can't be iron willed strong men and be successful. Even Billy B might not be able to hold it together without having buy in from the GOAT in the lockeroom.Comment

I am sure Tomlin offered those individuals advice off the field. At the end of the day individuals are accountable for their own mistakes and actions.Last edited by BURGH86STEEL; 06-15-2021, 08:24 PM.Comment

At some point it's up to the individual to seek help or correct behavior. We are talking about a grown individual.
I believe Brown has a mental illness. Brown is definitely a head case. Is it bipolar or something else?Comment
