Bulter saying on Espn the Pats gave up on him, " f@#$ them" . So if Malcolm Butler is FA this offseason any chance he'd want to play here. Could we get him? Would we want him?

Let me ask you this way? If we could sign him but it meant not signing/franchising Leveon Bell do you do it?

It isn't going to be easy to upgrade the talent on the D side of the ball being 4 million over the cap and signing LB to $14 million tender.

IMHO, I think the Steelers really need to consider a world without LB and upgrade our D side. Ryan is a miracle and I am happy on his progress but he isn't coming back. And that is $8 million on that side of the ball that we won't have to spend.

Oh how stupid this move look like after the game.
If this was a benching and not Butler being sick....this is undoubtedly the dumbest move in BBs career.
We can only hope Tomlin never does something that dumb.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

How do you know if benching Butler backfired?

First, we would need to know if it was not practicing because of being sick or some other disciplinary reason...

Then, we would see that Nick Foles threw for 373 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT, and even caught a TD....

THAT is how you know it backfired.
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

only one making stuff up is you.

Sick all week, not for disciplinary reasons and his replacement was abused.

                        Great job Billicheat!!!

OP made up a reason for his benching and then watched it backfire but still tries to act like it was a smart move.

Anything to try and bash Tomlin.

It's hilarious reading all the players and the DC give robotic answers

“Yeah again, we were just trying to run some packages we had on defense and those guys that were out there were out there for all the situations that we needed them for,” Patricia said.

And in what was perhaps the most revealing postgame chat, Eric Rowe revealed that he did not now he’d be starting in the Super Bowl until just before kickoff.
Q: Did you know you’d be starting?
                            Rowe: “No.”
Q: Did the team expect Malcolm Butler to not play?
Rowe: “No, that wasn’t the plan.”

Q: Do you have any idea why Butler didn’t play?
                            Rowe: “No.”
Q: Do you believe Butler is a great player?
Rowe: “Yeah, definitely. He is an amazing player.”
Q: Could the defense have used some help from Butler?
Rowe: “Yeah, we could have used anybody. Whoever the coaches throw in, obviously, we have full confidence in them to affect the game. We could have used anybody.”

wow..almost sounds like Bill Billicheat sabotaged his DC and his team for personal reasons.

Bellicheat has been reading too much of his press clippings because Butler was arguably his best cornerback. You have your best players on the field if you want to win. It will come out soon enough what the real reason is that they benched him. All Bellicheat did was hurt the team by benching him.

You never know; Butler might have made a play on that 4th & 1 in the fourth quarter to preserve a patriots win. We'll never know .
