McCullers ... Wilcox ... Sensabaugh ... all kept over Harrison, and all inactive for the subsequent games.

EDIT: A couple of those players may have been activated for the meaningless game vs. the Browns in week 17.

Also let me add we were 13-3 without Harrison, why should he have mattered to us?

A year ago JH had TEN, yes 10 tackles.......key to shutting down Jay Ajayi in beating the fins.
He cant stop the run? The next time TJ and Dupree COMBINE for a total of 10 tackles will be the first time,

Why it matters is that in order to win championships, you need to field the best team possible. 3 other teams finished 13-3 in the regular season. I don't know that you get a trophy for that. You need some semblance of defense to have a real shot at the Super Bowl; our defense was beaten soundly in our playoff game -- gashed on the ground and at times, pummeled through the air. Our OLBs were all but invisible.

I don't think Colbert was the one deciding to keep him off the field, and you know Tomlin is untouchable, but how about showing Keith Butler or Joey Porter the door?

(I suspect Porter had some significant influence in the decision to keep 92 from playing much for the Steelers this season.)

Did it in 2016 and they start Deebo the last 7 games, win them all, win 2 playoff games for a total of 9 straight before the Pats loss.

Then rather than LEARNING SOMETHING, Porter AGAIN announces he is limiting Deebo BEFORE THE SEASON and makes it literally impossible for him to even compete for pt....holding him out of preseason practices. I actually understand it if you are just saving an older player for real games but thge STILL refused the BEST OLBer on the team the prior season.

I think there may have been a grudge there going back to Porter's time playing with the Steelers. Who made him expendable? Harrison. It's after Porter came on staff in 2016 that Deebo got squeezed into a diminished role, but later in the season, because of injuries and circumstances, they had to turn to 92, and he produced. This season, because Dud and Watt stayed healthy, Porter was able to keep Harrison on the bench.

Some speculation there, but I think there may be something to it. (BTW, possible old grudges might be a good reason not to bring ex-players on as coaches until they have been away from the team a bit longer.)
