    Artie Burns

Given his play recently, I've gotta ask... anyone feel like Artie could be another Cortez Allen?
Man I am hoping for the best with this kid. He's got a ton of potential, but I'm seeing some similarities with him that I saw with Allen...which is obvious cause for concern.

    Any thoughts?

No Burns is a good corner but I think he may be pressing a bit because he doesn't have an INT, he is jumping a lot of routes lately trying to get one and it has led to some big plays.

my gut is telling me brady will make artie his biatch......

love the energy and aggressiveness - but he needs to be just a bit more disciplined, and clean up his tackling.

Burns is young and learning. If anything his youth brings a degree of over aggressiveness. He will be a solid player for years to come.

He makes way too many mental mistakes.

Wizard and Ovi... I hope you guys are right. Cortez Allen showed a ton of promise very early on. He was supposed to be the next "Ike Taylor" by many accounts. He had all of the "Tangible". Of course injuries played a factor with Allen. He just could never get "Over the hump" so to speak....but I think a lot of his downfall ultimately was the mental aspect of the game.

If Haden was healthy, I could almost see Burns getting benched for a game or two in favor of Sensabaugh. Ike had a few of those during his career and always rebounded.

Physically, Burns has all the tools. But he makes far too many mental mistakes. If he can simply do his job, he'd be a lot better off. He has to improve his discipline before the NE game.

                  Also, he's afraid to tackle!

What's with the huge cushions on 3rd and short? It's absurd. Is that the coaches telling him to be so far off the WR? He was so far back a few times the QB could have underhand tossed the ball to the WR and converted the 3rd down.

Allen’s problem was injuries...perhaps the injuries killed his confidence, but they were the main issue...

Burns is aggressive and still learning...he does need to be more disciplined, but that can come with experience and coaching...

Remember: Success comes from good decisions. Good decisions come from experience. Experience comes from bad decisions.
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

one time he looked around like he expected help. Dude, it's 3rd and 1. Help yourself and move up.

What is the status on Haden? That's my answer.

Why Sensabaugh got torched for a TD in both games that he has started.

^This. And I will say the Belichick wouldn't hesitate to bench the guy until he showed he has learned the position. Leaving your part of the field is a huge gaffe that really shouldn't happen whether a rookie or vet. I too, am questioning whether he is a starting CB in the NFL. Give him the rest of this season to work it out but expect the Steeler brass to again look at the position in the draft.
