Any of these guys sound interesting? Didn't think so...
actually, they all are/could have better production than ben is this year and probably cheaper

Cousins and Brees have bigger cap hits than Ben.

Bradford and Bridgewater are always hurt.

Garoppolo has started a grand total 2 NFL games (and was injured in one of them).

      Thanks for playing, though.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

You think Brees and Cousins would be willing to take LESS money if they make it to the open market next year?

Bridgewater's 1 injury was so bad that he hasn't been able to play since 2015. A Sean Spence type of potentially career threatening injury.

Ben's injuries tend to result in him missing a game or two here and there, while Bradford's injuries tend to result in him being placed on IR.

          Thanks for clearing that up.

bens cap hit next year is 23.2 million
cousins franchise tag was just slightly higher and brees a little above that. both were on a one year deal so a multi year deal would more than likely lower the yearly hit.
            the others arent even close.
so yes, as i previously stated, all could be cheaper than ben
did i simplify that enough for you?

              It's so clear now.

Drew Brees, who is 4 years older than Ben and led his team to a 7-9 record 4 of the past 5 years.

Kirk Cousins, whose best record as a starter is 9-7, and wants more than $24M he gets this year.

Sam Bradford, who has never finished a season with a record as a starter over .500 and is always hurt.

Teddy Bridgewater, who hurt his knee so badly that he hasn't been able to play since 2015.

Jimmy Garoppolo, a career backup who started 2 NFL games and was only able to finish 1 of them.

All better options than Ben. Clearly. Thanks so much.

Personally - I don't think any of them are good options and would be a waste of money! Drew Brees is the only one who has proven anything and he is old as dirt! If Ben wins the Superbowl this year, I can see him (maybe) wanting to come back to cement his legacy - if he doesn't win, he shouldn't come back because if he can't find a way to produce with this level of offensive talent around him, what would make him think he would be any better a year older. My preference would be draft a promising young QB early in the draft and let him compete with Landry and Josh!

That's the point. Searching for your QB of the future in free agency is futile. You need to draft and develop one.

damn this is this ugly truth.

seriously, why not go with Landry and Dobbs who are both cheap as hell and may pan out and if not you draft early?

folks don't want to pay Bell but they want to give a bunch of has been's and never was's bag of money because they are available? smh...

I think Landry and Dobbs competing would be an interesting competition! In all seriousness, I would like to see how guys respond when they know they have a chance to be the man! When you come into the season every year just knowing you are competing to be a backup, subconsciously, it affects your mindset. Also, after 15 years of watching Ben - good times and bad, I am just ready for some fresh, new, blood! I would love to see how a the coaching staff would build around a competent young QB who would actually have some talent to work with.

lol............you know when you have won when someone has to use the teams record as an indication of how good a player is to support their argument

Silly me...thinking that the ability to actually win games is a desirable quality for a QB.

Yeah, it's a team sport, but quarterbacks, goalies, and starting pitchers are the ones who have a W-L record attached to their stat line as opposed to linebackers, left wings, or shortstops.

If you love the idea of trying to sign a 39 year old Brees, Cousins, Bradford, Bridgewater, or Garoppolo, I look forward to your pleas for the team to "pay the man."
