    OT: Damn.... I wish...

Wentz was picked up by the Steelers. The guy is legit.

Question; did the Steelers even have a chance to draft him, or would it have taken an act of God?

He went #2 overall last year. Steelers had no shot at him. Better player - and better human being - than the Eagles fans deserve.

Is there any administrative chance of trading for a young superstar QB next year ... Luck or somebody like that?

If it is possible to do so ... would it be worth what we'd have to give up to have a franchise QB for the next 10 years or so? (Maybe have to give up something like Bell, Bryant, and draft picks ... I don't know, I'm just wondering what the FO would consider a reasonable trade for that. It *is* a bye week, we're allowed to do that kind of thing in bye weeks, right? ).

We got our "6-PACK" - time to work on a CASE!

HERE WE GO STEELERS, HERE WE GO!

I'm with you, but I doubt anyone will trade their franchise QB for anyone or picks. I wouldn't.

I don’t want Luck. Damaged goods. Why would you want a QB who can’t stay healthy?

and no, you can’t trade for a franchise QB unless he is about to retire.

Best bet is finding the next Wentz in the middle of the first of early second rd at the latest.

i still think Dobbs may be the guy. I’m willing to give him a season to see what he can do with our weapons. If he falls in his face you should be in position to draft a potential franchise QB. The only thing I don’t like about Dobbs is his spontaneous WTF throws when he should eat it.

and lets be honest, plenty of franchise QB’s have had a “nooo, don’t do that” in preseason. Hell, Russell Wilson still has them from time to time and he is a beast.

Luck isnt damanged good...just made way more sense to shut him down than to risk further injury.

He is one of the brightest young stars weve seen enter the game in a long time. I think Pagano is a pretty bad coach and Luck single handedly took a 1st overall nearly winless team to the playoffs despite having **** surrounding him.

Guys get hurt, they also get better. Stafford missed a ton of game early in his career, down he has been one of the leagues iron men. Few guys on the steelers I refuse to mention as well have gone through some injury plagued years

That being said, I loved wentz...had him as an easy #1 QB last year. Goff hoewever doesnt suck as much as i thought he would either so good trades by both teams it appears

Luck missed 7 games with a lacerated kidney.

Also, I don't buy Luck having nothing around him due to them being nearly winless the year before. They were 2-14 cause they didn't have anything behind Peyton Manning. They had Freeney on D, Mathis, Reggie Wayne (old but still decent), TY Hilton, Vinatari in a dome..

and also, look at their division. They had the Jags, Titans and Texans. Those 3 teams were punching bags for the majority of those years Luck was QB. Texans were 12-4 that first year but after they every team was 9-7 or worse in that division.

Luck is OK but he isn't THAT good where we should give up all our best players and hope he doesn't get hurt again. In 2015 someone posted this stat.

Luck is 17-2 in the AFC South and 17 and 15 vs the rest of the NFL. The guys doesn't win that much outside of his division.

              I don't trust him.

According to ESPN, the top FA QBs entering 2018 are:

                http://www.espn.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/252204/the-nfls-top-free-agents-for-2018

                Kirk Cousins

                Drew Brees
                Sam Bradford
                Teddy Bridgewater

Any of these guys sound interesting? Didn't think so...

He gets **** for his interceptions, but he lives just under fire. The offensive line theyve put together has been outright sad even with some high picks on it. Dlines just tee off on him.

Their defense couldnt stop anyone and they havent retained any of their top talent (or were or at developing the talent). He is an extremely talented QB, i dont see any reason not to trust him

The drafted Jerry Hughes and he was terrible (until he left). Bjoern Werner was terrible, Dorsett traded, round 2 and 3 TEs in fleener and allen both gone. They seem to be piecing the oline together now but he inherited a BAD roster and they have kept it pretty poor around him but hes managed to do decently well, and really beating your division is #1 priority and hes done that very well.

17-2 vs your division is great, 17-15 outside of it isnt exactly "not having success" though. If you are winning division games at 90%, over .500 elsewhere makes you a playoff team. Again, he has his flaws but he is a top 10 QB pretty comfortably imo

Yeah, actually. Cousins or Brees might be great way to win a championship in the event Ben retires. The Steelers window to win is right now while we have AB, Bell and a young fast defense that it starting to gel. If Ben or management were to come to the conclusion that the old cowboy doesn't have enough left, I'd support bringing in a QB that can win a championship with this team right now over turning to the draft, which is a crap shoot.

IMO you aren't on my radar if you are basically .500 outside the division and would move to a different division.

If he's top 10 he is number 10.

Luck lives under fire but part of that is his own doing. He holds onto the ball like Ben used to do. Blame Arians. lol.

Oh, well you dont often find a QB that doesnt have a losing season. If we are looking to compare directly to ben were going to be a dark place for a long time after hes gone.

I think blaming arians is fair lol...but arians made ben a great QB when he was 25 and welcomed contact and the downfield passing game (long drop backs, rolling out, etc.), haley made him a great and efficient passer. Still a lot of hope for luck imo

Not that the colts would deal him, just discussing i guess

For some reason, I don't like the idea of signing an old guy (i.e. Brees) just to win now and have to find another QB in the very near future.

I don't hate the idea of Kirk Cousins. I think he's a pretty decent QB and currently on a team that's not so talented. I think he'd do very well in Pittsburgh. Of course, I thought that Tommy Gun would do very well. And he did. But for a very short time.
