In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:
TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher -
unless ben has been hiding and injury, i dont think we will see an improved ben from here on out.
AND actually he would have to have 2 injuries. one that has reduced his arm to weakling mode, and two, the head injury that has him making the decisions he does.steelers = 3 ring circus with tomlin being the head clownComment

Eli Rogers dropping a TD pass that hit him on the hands isn't Ben's fault...
Darrius Heyward-Bey not catching a TD pass that he could have caught isn't Ben's fault...
Neither of those were Haley's fault either...Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.Comment

Plus the AB touchdown that was called back because of offensive PI. Well it might have been, but the officials let a lot worse go earlier in the game.Comment

whoa, ill usually defend ben but that throw to DHB was overthrown and he was wide open.
and in the first couple plays of the game where ben under threw the wr(juju?) down the sideline that would have been a td if he led him at all

i do find it interesting how many people just want Ben to go. They see teams find good, young QBs and think it's easy. It's just not.
Some classes are horrible and some aren't worthy of taking a QB. Sometimes you also just get lucky. It's hard to know about the last draft or two (sure Watson looks good. Tribusky, too early to tell, I'd say. Wentz looks great - Goff is coming around. But, who knows. So, let's check guys with confirmed success/failure.
2014 - Bortles, Manziel, Bridgewater, Derek Carr... (mixed bag)
2013 - EJ Manuel, Geno Smith, Mike glennon, Matt Barkley ... (sucky class)
2012 - Luck, RGIII, Tannenhill, Weeden, Oswieler top 5 QBs (with "gems" Russell Wilson and Kirk Cousins later in draft)
How many of these guys do you see as potential SB winners? Obviously Wilson did already
There's not always a Deshaun Watson in the draft who hits the ground running. Hell, Dak was a 4th rounder - we passed on him several times ourselves. Heck, Dobbs was taken earlier in his respective draft than Dak was.
I kinda wish the team had been more aggressive looking for QBs instead of always drafting the young guy with upside to be 3rd string (Landry a few years back, then Dobbs).
IMO, we're going to have a rock bottom year, then have to hope to get a top 15 pick and a QB... (like we did with Ben)2013 MNF Executive Champion!Comment

that wasn’t on DHB. Just because he is fast doesn’t mean he could catch an overthrown ball.
I could se if he was draped but he was open and Ben could have put a little less on it for him to run under it.Steelers 27

Based on postgame quotes, DHB disagrees with that. Now that could just be him being a high character guy (which he actually is) or it could be an accurate assessment on his part. Have to assume he has been doing this long enough to know his limitations, and if he says he could have gotten to it, I will trust his judgment.Comment

I think we are starting to see the decline of Ben. Not sure if people want him gone but I think most realize it’s finally time to start looking for the next QB.i do find it interesting how many people just want Ben to go. They see teams find good, young QBs and think it's easy. It's just not.

I disagree on trying to find his replacement before last year. That would be a wasted roster spot. Maybe we get some trade value for them but who knows. I would rather spend those picks on other positions.
I cant see us moving on from Ben if we had Dak waiting or if we had a back up with potential like Dak. As much as I bash Ben I wouldn’t move on from him unless he had a major injury.
The draft is a crap shoot regardless of position so I’m not sure why people keep harping over a frabchise QB like there is some type of formula. Go with the guy until he sucks and then go out and try to get another guy to replace him and hope it’s the right guy.
I know one thing. I wouldn’t get cute like the Browns if we ever get 2 first round picks. Get the guy and don’t pass up any potential franchise picks because you want to get a 2 for 1. Which is why I say you draft heavy every other year so you do t have to worry about trying to address 2 key positions at the same time.
i will add, I told everyone on here that Deshaun Watson was going to be the best QB in this draft and if he fell to us we better take him. I have no idea how everyone watched this kid put up over 900 yards, 9TD’s and 1INT vs what many said was the best Alabama defenses ever in back to back championship games.
I think the QB this year is going to be extremely deep. We could find a QB in this draft in the first round.Last edited by feltdizz; 10-30-2017, 04:07 PM.Steelers 27

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.Comment

Don't look now, Roethlisberger is currently rank #3 in the NFL in total passing yards.
Here's an interesting stat from Nextgenstats; he is #15 in the NFL in '% aggressiveness' in passing. They define aggressiveness as the number of pass attempts into a tight window (defender is within 1 yd of the receiver).
#1 is Hogan
#2 is Wentz
#3 is Palmer
Also, he is #3 in 'average intended air yards' is the average yards of all intended passes.Comment

I dont care if DHB stopped and tied his shoe. He was WIDE OPEN when Ben threw that pass. There was no need to put thst much zip on it.
Its crazy because Ben seems to put too much air on deep passes but threw this one on a line when DHB had his man beat by 5 yardsSteelers 27
