    Dont normally post downers after a win but......,..

    Ben is starting to really worry me. He has never missed open guys so routinely in the past.
    That and the drops on the other side of the pass........we could have destroyed these guys.

    If Ben can somehow get his mojo back this team would be in a league of its own.

    I'm not a psychiatrist, but it looks like he's choking, and then is afraid that he's going to choke on the next one ... all this referring to the floating balls he threw today, one of which was picked off, and at least two would have been huge plays for us.

    Then when he hits JJSS completely in stride (like for the TD), I think that's what it's gonna take to break him out of his blue funk.

    But you know, I'm just making all this up!

      i actually hope he quits after this season.
      he has no arm strength and his decision making blows
      i have a hard time watching it now, next year will be worse
      throw in a coaching staff that wont adjust to his declining skills...............uuuggh.
      he was once great and super fun to watch, now you never know whats going to happen when he drops back

        I said Ben sucks right after he missed Jesse James.. then he hit JuJu for the 97 yarder.

        Eli and Ben both really needed that first TD. Not sure what’s up with Ben. Maybe it’s age but I still wonder if he isn’t putting in enough work during the week.

            It seems that way, because nothing he does is in rhythm. He either waits for guys to get open, or he throws it before or after the guy is expecting it.

            At his level, QB should be relatively easy: set protection, read defense, get ball out of your hands quickly. Brady* does it. Brees does it. Rivers does it, with lesser talent. Eli probably could do it, with better talent around him. Ben has more talent around him than all of those guys, yet this team struggles with offense. Don't get misled by that fluke JJSS play.

              Yeah, he's seen better days, no doubt. Maybe he's never going to get better. But is he still good enough for us to win it all?

              I think with the right coaching he is. I'd spend almost all of practice time on hitting runners in stride on crossing patterns, time after time.

                  I don't disagree about the confidence concerns but Eli has to make that catch. While the TE miss was bad, I think that was a bit of bad route-running too as Ben motioned he thought Jesse was taking it more upfield. I like Jesse but he's no Heath & I think Ben misses him more than anything.

                    There are two types of QBs - the timing guys like you mentioned who throw guys open & guys like Ben, Farve, Elway or even Bradshaw who see the player open & get the ball to him. Not to say that either can't make the other kind of throws when needed but it's not their forte. But why keep wishing for something he's not? - Especially since he's carved out a HOF career & two Super Bowls for us. As for glorifying some of the others, have you seen Eli play this season?!? That man is a hot mess & has been for the past few seasons...& Rivers ALWAYS finds a way to fall short. Say what you like but I'd still take Ben over those two, especially since it seems really premature to give up on him considering where we are.

                      Hell, Brady struggled in the RZ yesterday and they needed help from the refs and the kicker missed 2 FG’s as well.

                      This is why the Texans scare me. They score TD’s. Fortunately the D also gave up a ton yesterday in a wild shootout in Seattle.

                      Not sure anyone cares but defenses are catching up to offenses this year.

                        Watching Ben, I swear that I see him "aiming" a few balls out there, instead of just trusting his instincts and mechanics. When a QB starts staring down receivers and aiming, it's usually not good. Whatever it is, I hope he gets it worked out.

                          Why watch the rest of the NFL when you can just complain about the lack of perfection. If you watched other games you might have perspective and bitching and moaning about being 6-2 is so much easier

                            OV, I'm not quick to complain about Ben's play. I know he will have dud games, and wasn't even bent when he had all those picks in one game. I have always been the guy to say don't worry he will be fine.

                            My concern is the length of time here. He has yet to look "right" all season. Is "this" what he is now as a QB?

                            I agree with Dizz about the league as a whole. But Ben is just missing guys more frequently He used to be more accurate with guys hanging all over him

                            It is not complaining, it is concern.

                              One thing for sure, people have figured injury that Ben likes to stare down his receivers, even the announcers are commenting on that.

                              Don't know if he's always done that as much, or if it's more lately, but it makes it easier for experienced DBs to play cat and mouse with him and make breaks on the ball.
