Wrong safety to be jacked at for sure! Wish Davis would have filled the correct hole/gap on the 90yd run. that cemented the beat down and made the good defensive effort look real bad!

        Bryant suspension
        Ben contemplates retirement
        Bell holdout
Guys showing up to camp in fire trucks, rolls royce's, etc
        Anthem garbage
        AB's annual tantrum

This team seems to be focused on everything but the actual games, and that's why they can't beat scrub teams. Blame it all on Ben if you want, but this team is unfocused, undisciplined, and is made up of highly selfish players. And that goes for the coaches as well.

I would agree with this also. Would love to see the 90s steeler defense in this locker room for about a week. Heads would roll!

This thread was focused on Mike Mitchell being an idiot. Something he's proven over and over.

It has nothing to do with BEN, BELL or even the overall Defense. The forum has several threads on Ben and Company.
But this one is about a guy who not only sucks at his position but acts like an idiot on top of it.

You are correct... and I will add that you are fighting a losing battle my man! lol. You'll have to show me one thread with more than a dozen posts in it...that has stayed 100% on topic. I have been a member of this board for 10 years under 2 user names, and have yet to see one that hasn't strayed off from the original topic.

I think the 4th qtr leads you are referring to took place about a hand full of years ago.

                        This absolutely infuriated me.

Yeah, I realize that this game was lost primarily because of Ben's interceptions and Haley's stubbornness in calling for 55 passes vs. one of stingiest pass defenses in the league and only 20 rushes vs. one of the most generous rush defenses in the league.

But this just set me off. Up to this point, I was still screaming for the defense as I normally do at all home games. But once Mitchell was prancing around after his defense gave up yet another big run for a first down in a game where they were losing to Jacksonville at home, I stopped yelling for the defense and starting yelling at the defense. You are getting shredded by a run game who only felt the need to pass the ball ONE TIME IN THE ENTIRE SECOND HALF because they were marching up and down the field at will against you on the ground. And yet you feel that is an opportune time to preen and get up in your opponent's face. Fournette should have been laughing at you right to your face there...he had every right to at that moment.

This was Mitchell's Anthony Smith moment, worthy of your D.C. coming onto the field and pulling you off of it by your facemask. Mitchell isn't some clueless rookie or second year player, either. He's an established vet who should know better. But he doesn't, and likely never will.

Some may say that he was just showing emotion out there on a day where we needed more emotion, but celebrating and trash talking following yet another play that was a failure for your defense in a day that you losing on our home field...that something that a loser does. A winner would have been seething that they gave up yet another first down on yet another big run play, not preening.

I spent the final quarter of the game in silence seething while the rain came down. The only thing that finally make me chuckle again was when the game was over and we were walking out of the stadium as Led Zepplin's "Fool in the Rain" was playing over the loudspeakers. Totally appropriate.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

This is a big reason why this team will never win a SB as constructed. You don't win with hot dogs like Mitchell, AB, etc.
Mitchell *thumped* him. And IIRC, his fire after the tackle did provide a bit of an adrenaline spark for the team at the time -- which the team needed, trailing by 11 at home. I totally got it and had zero problem with it.

Ya I think Mitchell had to stay fired up because he constantly had to sprint in from his deep safety position to hit Fournette. Mitchell plays with an edge and an attitude for 60 minutes, doesn't matter the score he is flying around the field trying to knock someone out, I have no problem with that.

This was exactly Tunch and Wolfley's take on the radio.... Mitchell trying to energize the defense. Not a big fan of Mitchell, but sometimes a team needs that kind of spark.
